Craftsmanship at its finest here. I feel for the homeowner. I climbed many poles with a phone company for 20 yrs I was outside. 5 dead trees needed to be removed on my property so I (70yrs old) called to have someone else do it. I went up poles 20 to 40 ft but this gentleman went up 40 to 60 ft up trees in gaffs easily. I was amazed. Only a 2 man crew removed my trees. Hats off to these guys that do this for a living! August, I can tell you that I am fully mesmerized every single time I watch your videos. I watch every second. I've been watching for ages and I've learned an awful lot from your skill set and extreme knowledge being an experienced tree specialist. I've tried really hard to replicate a lot of your balance and cutting techniques and have cut 12 trees down on my property over the last year doing my best to copy your style. Every one of them I almost chuckle at after I cut it with little bird's mouth cuts and face and back cuts trying to get things to point with the right geometry and to fall in the right direction. A lot of the stuff that I used to do is a kid with two guys I've been able to do just by myself following what you do. I'm a thousand years behind your skill but I have to hand it to you and your guys. You are extremely safe and you understand physics and dynamics and geometry like none other. Well done as usual. What you do does not go unnoticed. You guys are true pros.

I know my case is not the same as this it is horrible when this happens. In my case, I'm in Quebec and in January of 1998, we had a horrible ice storm; our Province was hit so badly that, at some point, it was thought that even Montreal would lose power. In my town, we were 45 days without electricity, we lost all the trees on our land, and the cars were stuck onto the driveway under 6 inches of ice. We had the Canadian Army, the Red Cross, and our Province Gov, every authority that could help. The only place we could eat was in a hotel that had generators and where we could shower. No, we could not go to other towns. We were all the same. The only store we could go to buy things was Walmart, where employees came with us with flashlights. Yet all the help and everything was done to help us out, which made us feel much closer to family, friends and neighbours. To see these people help each other is so comforting it does prove that neighbours do count in daily life.

It fell at some small breeze. And nobody saw it coming. Maybe I am wrong, but there was need of a big red circle. :) I wonder if there is somebody at municipality in charge with this aspect. Here I see all the time a team taking care of dead trees and branches, but often the decisions seems sketchy. Dead trees standing for years, while perfectly healthy trees are going away, or are mutilated.

As someone who grew up in the woods, there’d always be that loud cracking sound, and you’d just brace yourself hoping like hell it wouldn’t land on the house or a vehicle or something. We never had a big tree cause substantial damage thankfully. But it was always scary. My dad was thankfully an arborist actually though so he did a great job tending to the ones closest to the house or taking down risky trees. It’s wild how far away you could hear that crack before the loud bang of it smashing apart as it hit other trees or the ground.

Happened to my house and I sued the power company. I won $32,000 for the damage to my house, fence and deck. I warned them it would happen in writing and they kept doing it. This happened all the time when I worked urban forestry in California. If I remember right the main cause was from overwatering causing the roots to grow just below the surface of the soil and not growing down. Or sometimes it was from new sidewalk being poured and the crews would cut the roots to make way for the new concrete leaving the tree compromised.

We had 3 60 ft pine removed from our front lawn, they had a fungus and were declared unsafe. Fascinating watching those tree`s taken down piece by piece with nothing destroyed in the process. Watching these gentlemen take down this tree was expertly done and i am glad the owner`s were ok and the lad`s removing the tree`s.

At San Jose State University in the 70s, I walked by a tree that big and within 15 seconds the tree fell over and landed on the house. I turned around when I heard the noise and was grateful it didn’t fall my direction. Felt bad for the owner and hopefully their insurance took care of them. As Tom Hanks said in the Money Pit movie, “we have weak trees”.

I’m always surprises at how flimsy a lot of houses are in the US. Like wooden sheds, they don’t even have proper roof tiles.

😂 Unless you live in a concrete bunker, most houses would have some type of damage from this tree fall. Some of these tree limbs weigh several hundred pounds, and the tree itself likely a ton or more. Factor in the force of the fall.... Building code here in the US is ultra strict. We aren't 3rd world, dude. 😂

If you look close, you can tell the roots were already hanging by a thread. There was a bulge around the tree base because the soil was literally the only thing holding the tree in place. No surprise a good stiff breeze blew it over.

We had a storm blow through 2 weeks ago. Lots of rain and 110 km/hr sustained winds. The result was 100’s of trees like that one down all over the place and power outages for a week. Great for work but bad for home owners. Great job. Take care. God Bless.

But that old little house supported that extremely heavy tree, the house is little and that roof can be repaired in 1-2 days. These people don't look like they have a large budget too. Remember our tax money is taken from us to support Germany and that's been for over 70 years. Hindsight 20/20, it's probably not a good idea to plant massive trees in small yards, a tree does need roots.

@@petera5560 "Remember our tax money is taken from us to support Germany and that's been for over 70 years." - actually, USA (traditional colonial power) has been consuming 50 % of global product (30 % of global gas) and making 40 % of global waste. Because this is unacceptable anymore, global predictor (one of the two subjects of global politics) is dismantling Pax Americana along with European Union. USA is to be reformatted as a regional power. You can see how Texas Army National Guard takes over the border with Mexico instead of Federal institution. There are 3 derailments daily in USA; interstates are falling apart - amortization of infrastructure is up to 85 %. All nuclear power stations in Germany are stopped. Half of nuclear power stations in France are out of production and need repairs. There is 40 % industrial inflation in EU - de-industrialization. USA occupied Germany since the end of WW2 and installed nuclear weapons there. Meanwhile Russian Bolshevism is re-industrializing Russia; on 17.12.2021 they requested NATO to withdraw to positions as of 1997. Russian Bolshevism not to be confused with neither Communism nor Marxism.

It's extremely lucky that nothing serious happened to anyone, despite the fact that advanced "western civilization" lives in super-cheap temporary wood-paper houses (the price of which is still incredibly/incomprehensibly high). I hope that they had sufficient insurance and that any financial damage will not affect the owners too much, or that the community/neighbors will help. I wish you all the best, friends.

Some trees grow their roots downwards, others grow theirs sideways, therefore don't have enough hold underground. It really is important to know what type of trees are planted near our houses to avoid such incidents. Kudos to the tree cutting team! Well done!!
