It works like seen in the video for non-ferrous metals. Steel can be sectioned as well, but tends roll in and the diamond knife doesn't last as long as sectioning non-ferrous metals.

I have successfully thin sectioned tungsten carbide with a diamond knife. The sections appeared to anneal under the Hitachi TEM electron beam (40 keV) but were stable in our old JEOL TEM (15 keV)

Im unsure specifically about microtomy, but generally cutting steel say, with diamond tools is usually not recommended. Not because of hardness, but because of reactions between the diamond and the iron. steel is an alloy of carbon and iron after all- they bond quite strongly, forming iron carbides, and catalysing the transformation of diamond into the more stable graphite. iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/2631-7990/ab5d8f Given the cost of the blades, I certainly wouldn't without confirmation that it was fine.
