I’ve seen this plane leave a airport.. I’ve never seen such a large plane takeoff and turn so much on a dime in my life. It’s pretty amazing to see.

Air Force 1 is not escorted by fighter jets but when JFK's body was transported to DC on Air Forse1they had 50 fighter jets from Navy n Airforce , On TV they showed how they did formation.50 to represent the states of US. Marine 1 is escorted by by 2 helicopters as decoys n while I was in DC I saw the 3 flying above us SO While in DC if you saw 3 helicopters flying close together you know it must be the president

I find it hilarious how so many things are deemed "secret", but there's absolutely nothing secret about anything being told that's "secret". If it were, it wouldn't be told!

I read that three times and I still don't know what you're trying to say. There are a lot of capabities on Air Force One that are VERY secret. There are also a lot of other things besides AF1 that we don't know about. For obvious reasons. The things we do know they LET US know. The rest is secret.

You can explore the retired airforce one in Ohio at Wright Patternson Airforce base.

Never seen AF1, but AF2 definitely lands at commercial airports.

No Daz they're not going to squash it. Every Air Force 1 that has ever been still exists to this day. When the birds go out of service for the president they are then relocated to various museums. One will likely end up in the Smithsonian and the other one will probably end up in the Air Force Museum.

When the 2 current Air Force 1 planes are retired, they will not be scrapped, as with other retired Air Force 1 jets, they will be sent to museums. The last Boeing 707 Air Force 1 is on display in a special hangar at the Ronald Reagan library in California. It is permanently mounted in mid air as if it’s flying. Visitors can go on board and walk through, front to back, exiting through the rear door. The first Air Force 1 that flew JFK’s casket to Washington from Dallas, is at an Air Force base in Ohio. It has another distinction as the only plane where a presidential swearing in was held. LBJ took the oath of office inside Air Force 1, as his wife Lady Bird, and Jacqueline Kennedy stood on either side of him. He was sworn in by a local judge and the plane was quickly cleared for takeoff when the swearing in was concluded. When Princess Diana died so suddenly in 1997, then First Lady Hilary Clinton flew to London on Air Force 1 to head up the United States delegation for the princesses funeral. When there is a presidential death, Air Force 1 is sent to fly the deceased president and his family to Washington D.C. The former president lies in state in the Capitol Rotunda, and a funeral mass is conducted at National Cathedral. After the service, the family and casket are flown back to their home state. I believe that HRH Queen Elizabeth flew on Air Force 1 once while visiting the United States. She also flew in a smaller presidential jet when visiting the Reagan’s in California. The Obama Presidential Library, still under construction, is being considered to have the current Air Force 1 permanently on display when it is retired.

"Air Force One" is the callsign for an Air Force aircraft carrying the President of the United States, not ANY aircraft. If it's a Navy aircraft, it would be "Navy One"; an Army aircraft would be "Army One", and of course Marine squadron HMX-1 operates the helicopters used by the President, so "Marine One". If the President flies aboard a non-U.S. military aircraft, the callsign is "Executive One".

What? lol Bush came to Waterloo, Iowa for a speech at a small baseball stadium and we watched Air Force One land at the airport here.

My guess is if they needed fighter jet or drones for any defensive / counter attack purposes, they could scramble a formation out extremely quickly just ab anywhere in the world the president might be flying but I’m not military so what do I know

The scariest thing about this is they are still on allowing Boeing to build the new ones . God bless anyone riding in a Boeing jet.

You can't buy and decommissioned AF1 there taken part and use to replace anything the new one needs.

Air Force One frequently lands at Stansted, UK....A "normal" airport. The 747-200 has a top speed of Mach 0.92 while the F-16 has a top speed of Mach 2.0. Of course the F-16 had to go faster than the 747 to CATCH UP TO the 747. The original video was inaccurate and dorky.

I'm only like 2 minutes into this damn video and there's so many inaccuracies it's ridiculous! First of all it is definitely not faster than an F-16 second of all Air Force One is not the name of any plane he flies on it's any Air Force plane he flies on and he flies on an army plane its Army 1 if he flies on a civilian plane its civilian one! Third of all it is not the longest airliner by any stretch of the imagination! Now when he eventually gets his new one it will be but we're looking at the old one and those things are the short

When I was stationed at Hill AFB if the president was flying over Utah area we sent our f16s up to escort it. I can’t remember the operation name but maybe it was an exercise. Noble Eagle I think. There’s an airplane graveyard in… I think Arizona? But there’s an old Air Force one plane parked there you can walk up to it.

the video is wrong it does not always land at military airports. military airports are not always available. like when it comes in to land or take off. airspace is cleared and escorted

I think the story behind the fighter jets is that they burned so much fuel at the speed AF1 was flying on 9/11 that they were not able to stay in the air for the entire duration of the AF1 flight.
