It hurts my heart that the current leadership at rockstar clearly hate this franchise

They hate it because it was the last project worked on by "those who left"... including the elder Houser brother.

The depth of backstory, history and connection between the games is unsurpassed. It’s incredible that all the dialogue is relevant to something in the game; even the NPC’s speech is meaningful.
I'm quite certain that sheriff Freeman is half the reason Tumbleweed was abandoned. After killing anyone he saw as breaking the law, the people complaining about how strict he was would have left town, the business owners would have left due to not being able to make any money, and finally the rest of the people had no reason to stay. Armadillo having the railroad just gave them somewhere to go.
@geraltrivia6148
Ай бұрын
Company towns, mining towns, and the like, popped up and died off all the time back then when folks rushed to a spot where they thought they could make money and then left when the work dried up. The railroad was easy to blame for the town's decline but whatever drew people to Tumbleweed in the first place just wasn't there anymore. To me, Sheriff Freeman seemed like a man who was desperately trying to hold on to his authority over a town that was rapidly becoming a ghost town. With his brutal justice approach, and lofty promises, he convinced people to stay who would otherwise have left for greener pastures. Those people then came to resent and fear him as the revival of the town never happened and he just got more and more desperate. That was my take any way; Tumbleweed was already dead; Freeman was King of the ashes.
@livewire2759
Ай бұрын
@@geraltrivia6148 That's an interesting take on it... "King of the ashes" is a good way to put it. What brought people to Tumbleweed is a mystery. Most towns are established near natural resources, Tumbleweed didn't even have a river nearby. Maybe it was the gold mine nearby, which was taken by the Del Lobos. Perhaps that's why people first started giving up on the town. There wasn't much else around for people to make money on. The way I see it is the Del Lobo gang was likely driving people away from Tumbleweed even before Armadillo got their branch of the railroad. Freeman was probably brought in from elsewhere, similar to how Wyatt Earp was hired in numerous Kansas towns to come in and clean things up. He did his job at first, running the Del Lobos out of town, then continuing to kill them every chance he got, but once John eradicated the gang almost entirely, Freeman turned his focus on the rest of the town's citizens. A man with power always wants to exercise his power. You can already see him doing this if you listen to the speeches he gives, not just telling people to behave, but commanding it, demanding it, and threatening them with brutality if they don't obey. People don't like to be ruled by an iron fist, so if there's another choice, they'll take it. With the gold mine dried up, and after Armadillo recovered from the cholera outbreak, it was clear to the people of Tumbleweed that Armadillo was the place to go. The railroad was just a bonus.

The devil has gotten into that beast can be referring to freeman being the beast and power being the devil
@livewire2759

@@Quickscop3r4u That's exactly what it means. Power tends to corrupt, absolute power corrupts absolutely. Freeman was absolutely corrupt.
The sheriff's office is riddled with bullet holes so obviously something went down there. I do enjoy charging through the town, lassoing Freeman as I gallop passed, and drag him unceremoniously out of town screaming and hollering. The funniest thing is that nobody in the town cares, the deputies just stand there quietly and watch. I don't even end up wanted or with a bounty 🤣

Wel i mainly love Tumbleweed for a fact that person can train their aim there without law assistence.
Rockstar should hire this talented man to make his crazy good cinematics and details.
Crazy. I just started RDR2 over because I didn’t have the heart to finish it. I refuse to accept that the game has to end.
You are absolutely the best at RDR2 secrets videos. I had started playing the game for the first time ever about 1 month ago, and I eventually stumbled across your videos while looking for more world lore content. Your presentation style is perfect, and you give such great detail to make the world even more immersive and amazing. Great job!
Be blessed Strange Man. It's crazy how much detail this game has. Thx for collecting it.
GOAT video. I've never payed attention to those Tumbleweed secrets!
Thank you for all of your videos Stange Man ! Much respect for the time spent doing all of this professional content.
Thank you for all of your hard work! :)

I never knew Tumbleweed had so much hidden, great video!!!11!!!!!
Enjoyed the video, loved the ending! Neat to see how it could have been. Another fun watch!😁
its one of my favorite town in the game. its just peaceful, i love how the town is organized and has a small size but nearly all the facilities available. Plus, the people are very calm and friendly. 🤠
Awesome work!!!!
Always enjoy those cinematic endings.
You are awesome brother!
Another good video. Was wondering if you could do a video on the story of landon rickets. Thanks

All these secrets have been found after a year of the games release they're not new they're old
Sheriff Freeman had balls though and wasn’t scared of the Del Lobos. Even though he was way too hard on the townspeople. Unlike the sheriff from Valentine who practically sold the town to the O’Driscols. Freeman made good points and tried to keep his dry town clean. Also I’m more convinced that the Del Lobos shot up Tumbleweed as revenge since the Sheriff didn’t cooperate or get bribed by them. Thats why the survivors abandoned the town and it’s now used by bandits. Even though the town didn’t make much business, it still would be a good place for travelers to stop and rest at. I get financial struggles could make people leave town and start a new life somewhere else. But I just like the idea of the del lobos being forced to come together just to take down a small town that stood up to them.
I get why they put the railroad not going through to armadillo in the story since that was basically how ghost towns became ghost towns then but how the map is constructed come on they could have haha
8:00 the audio file does NOT imply we were intended to kill Frank Heck ourselves in the saloon. It is a line the saloon owner says in game, unprompted, and related to other references in game that state Frank Heck was killed- prior to the events of the game- in Tumbleweed.

I don’t know if you’ll see this, but I think it would be pretty cool if you could do each and every town in rdr1 and rdr2 about its secrets, if they have any! also love your videos
I always love the ending montage
really awesome video as usual you are really really good at editing and creating a good atmosphere in your your videos keep going
Strange Man is the best rdr2 KZreadr
Now that surely was strange
tumbleweed has a railroad too its just 50 feet away lol
I like the idea of "the devil has got into that beast" having something to do with freeman, ive played rdr2 a few times and i get the feeling hes supposed to be unstable, i think he had more to do with tumbleweed becoming a ghost town than the railroad.
Ah, Tumbleweed, my favourite town to be a Lawman in RDO. :) I loved finding out knew stuff about it, I've always been fascinated by the town, actually reminds me of where I spent most of my childhood, down in the south, dried plains that went on for kilometers and kilometers until they just faded in the horizon. In the summer we'd even get snakes by the door.😂
New video lets go!!
In RDR2, I noticed the sparks that ignite on the train wheels as it travels along the tracks.
Thanks for going out of your way to make these videos, they're so well made and executed.
Needed this one, always wondered why that place is the way it is, i knew it was cause the railroad bypassed it but i knew it was more than just that
I wanna know more about what happened to Thieves Landing in between RDR2 and RDR1.

How you gonna Wild Bill Frank tho? Damn...
Do valentine or blackwater next
I tried completing the side mission with Jeb but on the way back to return the horse we got attacked by wolves and both the horse and the lady riding the horse got killed😭
Are these actually said in game or are they in game files that weren’t used?
You know the more I think about it if Tumbleweed was abandoned during the events red dead redemption 2 and the gang arrived there I can see them taking it over because A: it a free town, and B: no one see to care about it so it prefect.
Was it named tumbleweed before or after the town was good and gone?
Nice to meet you sar 🤠 ( Howdy ) 👌
My favourite town in Red Dead 2
The Ghosts, Ghouls, and Fairies were probably just spread to keep people from going to Tumbleweed
It's funny because the railroad bypassing Tumbleweed because of Armadillo makes no sense.

I asked for tumbleweed I got it
Is that a new secret?
Notice that all of the church buildings were locked in RDR2. Probably the team developer lead decided that there might be some outcry from the public claiming disrespect or religious organizations claiming reputation damage.
Your.a good man Arthur Morgan ❤
I just got there lol
While it's possible that Estella Blankenship could have been Jeb's mother, it's just as likely that it could have been his wife.
Stupid how much content was cut from this game. In rdr 3, it better have alot of content in expecting a bigger map than rdr 2s small map with a 100 hour storyline
Ok I just bought RDR2. What I miss so far?!
