General Austin. Man is a retired 4-star General in the US Army. General Austin was a leader of the 82nd Airborne, 2nd Battalion, 505th Infantry. He was a leader of what we could Green Berets. Lloyd Austin is probably the living equivalent of a bad ass Green Beret.

Miley is the kind of man that I would follow into combat because he is a true leader and has demonstrated that he is a born leader by not being afraid of what people like you say about what he as a soldier believes is right. I love how Miller had a perfectly reasonable, incisive, fair, polite, and well thought out response to Gaetz and literally all he could do was scowl and shake his head. If you disagree with an ideology, that is all the more reason to study and understand that ideology, so that you can better argue your own beliefs. When you're debating a subject that you have no knowledge of the opposing faction has endless ammunition to create psychological traps and present themselves as an authority and you as an ignorant fool. Sometimes additional context changes an entire field of history. If there was a singular, knowable "history," then we wouldn't need the entire field of historical study. Do you dismiss the entirety of mathematics because some of our equations might actually be wrong? And no, it's not written by "the most influential" person. Herodotus was certainly not the most important or influential person in the 400's BCE, and Xenophon wasn't the most significant military leader in Athens. Greeks in general were certainly not the most influential state of the time period, they're only the most influential to us TODAY. Political perspectives and pressure certainly affects how we have to interpret history, such as separating truth from propaganda against enemy states, but there isn't a singular king who sits down and writes whatever he wants and that's our only source. In modern history, we have countless thousands of primary sources readily-available, and more being uncovered or recorded all the time.

Milley made a good point about how critical thinking and keeping an open diverse thought on understanding different views is crucial for the military. It's the reason why the Marine Corps boast diversity within ethnic and religious backgrounds of recruits that come in to do basic. Having diversity and critical understanding from different views allows for better problem solving and reduces the risk of group-think.

How is it "corrupt" to just teach military-related things in the military? Marines already have to read a lot about strategy, doctrine, and ROE, they don't need to read something completely irrelevant to what they do.

It's nice to know where our Secretary of Defense and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff stand on CRT. And I agree, in part, it's important to study and learn where fellow human beings are coming from, but just because you're born white doesn't automatically make you a racist. I'm sorry, BUT CRT is wrong for that!

That's not what CRT is. Not at all. College students learn about many different theories; they are viewpoints. For example, in sociology you'd study conflict theory, structural functionalism theory, symbolic interactionism theory, and maybe feminist theory. It helps you see society through different lenses, how societal structure affects people, and therefore, understand people's views. That's all. You don't automatically get indoctrinated in whatever you're reading in the next chapter. Does learning about Nazism make you a Nazi? Does understanding Feminism make you a Feminist? Just because we learn and try to understand something doesn't mean we become that. CRT is a college law school course. Children are not in law school. High schoolers learning about the Tulsa Massacre is not CRT. Middle schoolers learning about slavery is not CRT. Whatever "diversity training" book you heard about is not CRT. Edit: To be more specific, learning about feminists doesn't make men hate themselves, nor does it make women hate men. If anything, it produces less hate by promoting understanding. In school, textbooks include cited studies and statistics. Not social media & propaganda.

@@prviolist your summations on CRT. Though they be compelling and no doubts factually based I choose not to agree and/or comply to them being exactly that when it comes to CRT. In my opinion a person can draw their own conclusions, rightly or wrongly, as to what CRT is or is not. God bless and have a lovely weekend my friend!

If Matt Gaetz got visibly furious over what the General said, it was because it was the truth, which he apparently can't handle. I love it. Karma is a wonderful thing.

There’s nothing patriotic about CRT which is rooted in Marxism. This general’s assertion of white rage is pure ignorance. This is about teaching Marxism which is anti-American and its values. It has caused anti-American sentiment which is why people kneel for the anthem, burn the flag, destroy historical monuments and statutes, and erase this country’s history. He wants to know why people stormed into the Capitol? It’s because of people like him and the deep state. He wants to know what’s wrong with understanding? Well using that logic why don’t we teach Nazi propaganda? He needs to be removed from the military immediately.

"Anti-bellum" laws? It's antebellum.. and African Americans were originally given 3/5ths the rights of whites in that era, not three quarters. It was just a pontificating theatrical show because it was totally innacurrate. Open a book sometime.
