I’ve delivered many calves but no colts. They thought the quicker he got up the better he would be, I think he was nursing within 45 minutes.

A baby horse is a foal. A colt specifically refers to a male. A female is a filly.

Laura W Oh well I’m sorry, I didn’t know I had to be so technically correct, but I’ve lived on a ranch and was raised on a ranch so i do know the difference. Hahahahaha I have pulled many calves but no horses. Hahahahaha. I’ve cut many bulls too, and shoats too. Thank you for your expertise explanation. And since you’re so technical if you don’t know the sex of a horse you say there goes a mare and her colt, always LAURA!!!!!

Laura W By the way in this context you would always refer to the male gender in my sentence, you wouldn’t say I’ve never delivered a filly unless you were being specific, so you would say I’ve never delivered a Colt, including both genders not confusing people to think you have delivered other Colts but just no filly’s. See.
