Secret Suppliers of Precious Metal Watch Bracelets
Design-oriented wristwatches from the 1960s, 70s and 80s are currently in high demand, and we are also noticing this on our website ... but how much do you actually know about these pieces? Have you ever heard of Gilbert Gaschen? Or Jean Pierre Ecoffey?

Yeah that was a lot of research for this article. These kind of bracelets embody so much class and elegance 👌
You had me at "secret". Throw in precious metals and the initials G.G. and how can I not watch this!? Gilbert Gaschen? Thank God he used his middle initial or there might have been some confusion with the other G.G.! 😂😂😂 You are the best, Felix! I was much more into the mechanical aspect of wristwatches than I was design before I started watching your videos. You and your brother and blog partners have a fantastic ability to combine mechanical, design, art and historical knowledge into the best watch videos on KZread. Thanks for another great one!

New subscriber here, and I love your videos Felix. I began collecting vintage watches in the 90’s when you could get some real buys on amazing watches that mostly just needed to be serviced to bring them back to their former glory. Back then there wasn’t anyway near the information there is today and most people concentrated on the movements and the technical side of things but didn’t put as much attention into the real beauty that went into the styling of many of the watches of the 50’s on. That’s one reason I enjoy your channel, you bring😢 a lot of information into your presentations that most watch channels don’t bother to research. It’s obvious that you’re passionate about everything about vintage watches. Keep up the great content PLEASE….and I’ll definitely keep watching and recommending you to friends.

“Can’t hold a candle” haha 😆.
My dad had an 18kt yellow gold square onyx dial with serpentine bracelet by Beuche Girod in the 70s. A real Tony Montana watch that looked so cool on him.
Another crazy series

Agreed! I would really enjoy to interview such an artist back in the 60s and 70s 🔥
Thank You for an informative educational exploration of these bracelets and watches. I immediately checked the bracelet on my gold GP with a similar design to one of the square dial AP’s you showed, and the makers mark is S.H. with the # 400 next to it. I am still researching this watch as I know very little about it.

Thanks man! I asked our hallmark expert Marcus but he also has no idea about the background story of SH markers. Sorry
Many thanks for the information! I always see GRG stamp on Breguet buckles but never know who that is. Now I know. Subscribed!

Looking for a good 18k no brand bracelet, they ask way to much over the gold content. Most were melted for the gold. But I thought the demand for a gold bracelet would be low… poor me.. (not paying 4K for 2k gold)

Yes, demand is currently very high and prices are accordingly higher than the price of gold - even for simple bracelets.
Great information and representation I own some of these watches, and I was always looking for information about the manufacturers of these beautiful bracelets. Thank you very much for this information.

I have an Omega from the 60/70s that was my fathers. It has a similar band to a few of the pieces (The clasp on the white gold AP looks identical.) you have shown. The face matches the style of the 18 kt band. I now know some of the maker's mark on the clasp and will check if there is a match to the ones you have shown.. Thank you for this informative video.

IWC has a specific gold strap. IWC makes the best LEATHER straps of the 🌎. Nice and strong ones also to specific models. The most IWV expensive models, of course.
All human beings are very precious too. Gold is gold everyhere on the 🌎. White gold looks "near" stainless steel.
My freind has a omega constellation, its back golden badge change to copper color seems oxidation, do you know why? Can it be redone or restoration?

When gold patinates, it turns red or copper-colored, but this discoloration is only very superficial and can be removed very easily. But we always leave the patina on.
