Love the episode. One note is that Rivaz isn't a dragon, so he couldn't be grabbed by Tiamat. Idk why but he's a Viashino Warlock

Rivaz also couldn’t have been cast when it was due to it not bring a dragon as the mana can only be spent on dragons and it wouldn’t be reduced .

Yes, but honestly I think its kinda dumb that a dragon synergy commander that is a dragon-ish creature isn't dragon type. You are right though

I feel like Shea kept forgetting that she gets that she gets 4 instead of 3. It's if a token would be made make that many squirrels. Meaning two from the 1 card, and 2 from Chatterfang, since two are hitting the board.

The Christmas magic was real in this episode. Great game all!

Not even finished the video, just at the part where Ben’s board gets wiped. I felt really sad for him because that was a mouth-watering Timmy board of the dragon synergy I’ve always wanted to see win a game of commander.

Awesome game but man Shea got robbed so hard from mistakes >..

That background wouldn't have triggered as often as she was triggering it though. It's creature cards, not creatures, so it probably would've been half as often anyway

Love the content and games! A small ruling note about Cloakwood Hermit: Tokens going to the graveyard do NOT trigger Cloakwood Hermit as it specifically says 'creature card'. The squirrel tokens are creatures, and they are permanents, but they aren't cards. 216.2. A token is subject to anything that affects permanents in general or that affects the token’s type or subtype. A token isn’t considered a card (even if represented by cards from other games or Unglued cards) and isn’t subject to any effect that specifically uses the word “card.”

Also, the extra tokens created by Chatterfang (of which there should be one per token created, though they did catch that eventually) should have entered tapped too.

Damn, that was an amazing turn Ben had! He looked so happy it made my day. I’m sure it was the best present he ever got.

I think out of the picks for card of the game, I'd have to go with Goblin Sharp shooter. It seriously did the most work and you really got the biggest bang for your buck with it. Including taking out an opponent. Merry Christmas and Happy new year to everyone!

Cloakwood hermit is played incorrectly. Tokens aren't considered cards. I think the text was written that way specifically so you can't combo.

Ugh, wish i had the ur dragon. Just made a Tiamat deck though with almost the exact cards except no crypt, but put a vault in it.

Looking at building an offshoot of the Chatterfang deck cause it was on my todo list and I kinda want to do a more tribal version for the fun of it but I barely see any card draw in the deck list... anyone knows what the draw plan was for the deck to stay afloat??

You'll put a trigger on the stack for each creature that dies, so you can tap again between each.

How did he get Rivaz from Tiamat if he's not a dragon? was there a maskwood nexus on board?

As someone who has also mistaken Rivaz for a dragon, I regret to inform you that while viashino are relatives of dragons, they dont count as dragons for the purpose of Tiamat's search.

In todays mtg economy, earl of squirrel doesnt feel as broken.

I love the video and the idea, but it does pain me that Chatterfang's ability was implemented incorrectly :( I'm sure that it doubles the number of tokens made with the additional coming in as squirrels. So, if you were to make two of any token you would then make that many plus 2 more squirrels.

Why didn’t shea put all her creature cards in her discard pile when wrath of god happened? Did I miss something I thought it said all creatures?

Eldrazi monument makes her creatures indestructible, as for blake's commander he made it indestructible right before casting the wrath

Why do generic Until end of turn -X/-X take out Indestructible but combat damage that puts something to X/0 or X/-X does not take it out.

Chatterfang should be making a token for every time another token is placed on the battlefield. Every time she makes two tapped squirrels she should be making two untapped squirrels.

Cloakwood Hermit doesn't proc from tokens dying either. It specifically says creature card and tokens don't count.

While you are half right. The tokens from chatterfang come in the same way they are created. If the tokens come in tapped they come in tapped as well.

I like the house rule where you get unlimited responses to a spell. Normally it's just one response.

Not sure what you mean. You do effectively get infinite responses to a spell or an ability. Someone casts a spell during their turn, it goes unto the stack, you respond with a spell, it goes unto the stack, your opponent passes priority, your spell resolves, opponent passes priority again, you cast a second spell and so on and so on. You can do this infinitely before the original spell resolves. I didn't catch them not abiding by this?

It's copies a creature not target creature shroud prevents it from being targeted.

I feel like CGB was kind of killing the vibe. You could clearly tell he hated the deck he was given.

It's getting boring that always CGB and Black gonig to try to deal. Just play without deals!
