EMS Retreat Center, Rhizha.
Nestled in one of the mountains and its valley in the Rhizha community on the outskirts of Jos, this hidden gem was built over 17 years ago by A South Korean missionary family of the Evangelical Missionary Society (EMS) of ECWA.
It's a serene, beautiful location intentionally built for prayer, retreat, rest and rejuvenation. The valley houses accomodation, dining, event halls, gardens and farms while The mountain houses prayer towers for prayer and meditation.
Rhizha looks like a large park, with its pine, eucalyptus, bamboo and teak groves. There are many flower gardens, known as healing gardens.
This location is a perfect nature sanctuary for personal retreats and time out of the loud city (and crazy schedules), Christian meetings, group retreats, meditation etc.
While we were here, my friends and I went up the hiking trail which took about 45-50mins, and spent time enjoying the entire natural atmosphere.
Please note that this is a Christian retreat center and while it is open to bookings, you will have to adhere to activities that align with their faith and mission
Location 📍:
Bauchi Road, just after the 'Welcome to Jos" sign. It is about 20- 30 minutes away from the city center. And like 10 mins away from Naraguta hostel area.

From 4000 naira per night.
Rooms are minimalist but comfortable. See this as camping in the woods with very little distractions.
