Dying to fall damage because of his build battle Getting on a strider and somehow landed on land yet still feel into the lava Died because the fence post he place stopped him and the Warden killed him. And the Warden only came because of Grian failing his task because he made a stupid game about jumping over a campfire and he only refuse because Grian took fall damage because of his build battle. What a guy

Also, another weird trend, Mumbo died within a minute after Jimmy both times Mumbo was in the Life Series, and by the same cause

My favourite part of Jimmy's episode was seeing him make plans for the next session, whilst i knew exactly what was going to happen

The realization that if Mumbo had correctly guessed Etho and Grian's task in that moment in the beginning, they would have immediately failed and none of this would have happened (at least of the Wither/Warden chaos).

I still love the glance that Etho and Grian cast towards one another when Mumbo's first guess was almost correct. XD

I think this was my favorite session of the entire life series so far. Just Grian and Etho, quietly working in the background of everyone’s videos, then the buildup to everything with Grian going to the nether, then mumbo dies, then much later scar picks up a wither skull and then the warden shows up and then there’s a wither and now everyone’s dead.

The watchers held Martyn hosage until he won last life, but now the watcher logo is the one on the secrate keeper so idk where it is going from there.

in addition, grian created evo smp and the watchers, who would send tasks to members, but dropped out mid season (i don’t remember why). As for the lore, watchers liked Grian, so they took him out of the series and made him a watcher too. However, genuine question, why did the watchers hold Martyn hostage?

It’s more like grian was once the admin of a server called evo, in which the members of that server (which included martyn, Jimmy, bigb, and Pearl among others) had to complete a quest given to them by a mysterious and powerful group called the Watchers. At the end of their quest it was revealed that two watchers had plucked grian up and taken him away to become a watcher as well. (In reality grian was leaving to join hermitcraft season six.) After grian left, a second mysterious force appeared on the evo server called the Listeners. This group was much less antagonistic to the remaining members and interacted a lot with martyn. Cut forward to the life series. Martyn’s lore implies that the Watchers are in charge of the life series and that grian himself was not meant to be a player in these games. He is, in some way, defying his fellow watchers. Martyn has learned this from a powerful Listener who has been whispering to him off and on since the first life series and has been subtly trying to influence martyn’s behavior throughout. It is relatively unclear what the Listeners’ goal is, but we know that the Watchers’ goal is to feed off the negative emotions felt by the players during the series. In short, the players are trapped in a sort of time loop for the entertainment of spooky, purple, eye gods, grian is a player, admin, and watcher all at once, and martyn is a receiver of secrets and potential puppet for the anti eye gods

In case the person who said they don't know about the watcher/listener lore (or anyone else who isn't familiar with it) is in the comments and wants a crash course, here's everything I know about the official lore (most of how it gets confusing is from the fan-made interpretations and theories): The official lore (as far as I'm aware of it at least) is that Grian's Evolution series introduced the watchers as this omniscient (or at least near-omniscient), unseen force that literally watched everything that happened on the Evo series, giving everyone on the series trials, along with rewards or punishments based on how they handled the trials. At the end of Grian's Evo perspective, he ascended to become a watcher himself (though it's a popular fan interpretation that Grian often rebels against the watchers in some form or another). The Evo series also introduced the listeners, a similarly powerful, unseen force that seemed a bit more benevolent than the watchers (although seemingly less powerful; there was a point in the Evo series where the watchers ordered everyone on the server to abandon their existing bases and move to new chunks, taking only what they could fit in their inventory with them, and while the listeners couldn't prevent the watchers' orders from being enforced, they did give everyone an enderchest so they could take more stuff with them). The listeners mostly interacted with Martyn and Jimmy, probably because, as far as I can remember, they were the first ones to joke about the existence of listeners before the actual existence of listeners was made apparent. Martyn has supposedly made nods to the watcher and listeners lore since then, but I don't typically watch Martyn's videos, so I'm not particularly well informed on any lore he's expanded upon (I don't know if it's official lore or just popular fan interpretation that Martyn ascended to be a listener in a similar way to how Grian became a watcher). I think Grian has made some very subtle nods to watchers lore in some other series, but nothing distinct enough that I can remember it, aside from the secret keeper having the symbol of the watchers on it's face, but fans will often find fun ways to tie in watcher lore, especially with the Life series. And there ya go. A crash course on all the official watchers lore (minus whatever Martyn has added).

Okay I have a bone to pick here. ANYONE WHO CALCULATES THE AVERAGE PLACEMENT BY SIMPLY AVERAGING THE ORDER PEOPLE GOT OUT IN IS A HACK Because the amount of players can change season to season, you need to convert the placements into percentages of 100, and then you can convert it back to the 14 or 17 player model AFTER! Example: Jimmy has gotten last 4 times, which we could say is 17/17(14/14) or 100%, and then one time he got 16/17, approximately 94.1%. So averaged we get around 98.8%, which still rounds to an average of last place. IF YOU DO IT THE OTHER WAY IT BREAKS THE WHOLE SYSTEM. Sorry no hate to whoever made the meme just wanted to clear the air.

omg i just relalized mumbo could have saved the session the moment he was guessing grian and ethos task, if one failed both would have to right? yes the two would have lost 10 hearts each but the after math of then suceeding was 4 red lifes, and grian (Idk if anyone else died to wither, which is kinda ironic that red lives and grian were the only ones killed in the 'war')
