They're the only group that at this point has not betrayed each other. Jimmy betrayed Martyn, Bigb killed Tango, Gem tried to kill Scott, & Mumbo literally tried to kill every Mounder. Plus Bdubs is stoked to join Martyn next episode so we'll see how that goes. They're the only group all yellow too, so I'm hoping for a Cleo win next week. Edit to add onto that, Etho was willing to face a red Gem in order to keep the whereabouts of Cleo and Grian safe, their loyalties may win it in the end.

I hope they make to the end but I predict with Gem on this season, she’s going to be the one go for Etho to take him out of the game.

Even if they had both died, there was someone else to hunt down and too little time... so killing them wouldn't really have served any good at that point. It was objectively the best choice. It's no difference for Etho, who fails either way, but saves Cleo and Grian from failing the same infection quest and even gives them a chance to succeed their own.

The only benefit you get for completing the task is 10 hearts which logically is not worth over the life of two of your teammates in any scenario. So all the people that betrayed their own alliance should feel bad, specially Heart Foundation who all kind of killed each other instead of going for Grian/Cleo/Scott. Gem only betrayed Scott at the very end when she saw the opportunity to succeed the task so I think her decision was fine (though imo converting Scott at the start when he had 0.5 Hearts might have been better for the chances of completing this task, it was going to be impossible to kill 30 heart Scott since he is so slippery)

You get that sweet reward that strengthens your chances of winning the series for completion of a simple sounding task which is the source of all evil happening here. People do it without thinking but in the end they lose more hearts than they gain from completing the task so it ends up being pointless. Skizz could have chose to target Cleo and Grian instead of going after the Heart Foundation. Him gaining 10 hearts/items was not worth sacrificing Tango and BigB. Someone needed to stop and accept failure otherwise more innocents would have gotten hurt. There was no way they were ever finding Grian or ever catching up to Scott so it was a wise move to help Cleo get out of this situation.

I like how Tango asked Etho his heart's desire and he literally wished for the moon. No one else does it like Etho.

He totally knew grian was up the tower at 44:08, he then looks around and offers to bring the warden to the button which clears them out of the area, its how he instantly knows that its grian who is running away invisible after.

There's barely anyone else it could even theoretically be, even if he randomly guess on any remaining non-zombie he's got a very high chance of being right, or just figure out of the few remaining Grian would be the one to try and pull this kinda move. Not to mention he did not actually see anyone up in the tower, so there was no way for him to know it was specifically Grian even if he did figure someone was up there

The yellows (Etho) and just not.. fully help as there task is just to spread it and him not doing it just makes it a fail anyway so its no real difference

@@brunokingz Only reds can hit fail early, but the phrasing in the book was pretty weak. "All infected players *can* work together... anyone infected *can* kill a non-red..." Plenty of wiggle room. The only strict requirement was that Etho kill *a* non-infected non-red, and the non-infected part was ambiguous.

I really feel like after watching this that Etho, Grian, and Cleo might be some of the last ones standing in this series just by how close knit as a group they are. In this episode we can see how loyal Etho is to his team and in previous episodes, in all threes POVs, we can see a lot of interactions of them helping each other out (I.e Grian assisting Etho with returning the book to Pearl, also him figuring out his task and not calling him out, Cleo spoiling them with goodies, also Cleo protecting Grian when he was low on hearts and so on). So yea, pretty sure they might all make it and maybe they’ll even stay as a team when they end up all red too, I’d love if they did because they’d certainly become a force to be reckoned with.

Cleo and Etho are the best pair this season!

I always see secret life as canonically happening before limited life and I keep forgetting I'm the only one who sees it that way so I was very confused why you said repaired family when in my mind the family hasn't fallen apart yet lol

8:05 the silently listening to BDubs trying to enchant made me actually double over in laughter

While i understand gem's tasks was chosen to speed up the series (and keep mumbo, jimmy, and Lizzie's povs from being too short compared to the others) but i dont reallu vibe with how it hijacked everyone else's povs. Maybe instead the secret keepers choose more tasks for everyone that encourage damage (ethos devil task was definitely going to get someone killed if it kept going on)

@@Bigwetkiss sure, if you think that. I disagree, but I don't feel like that really matters much in this specific conversation. Secret life is really unique in that it actively encourages the viewer to go watch every pov. There are so many secrets you could ONLY understand through watching that specific person's pov. Like that's the appeal of the series. And it's refreshing (especially as someone that tries to watch all povs 💀). So a task like this really destroys ANY interest in watching literallyyyy anyone else's pov in the most extreme way possible. Like ultimately it's a block game & idrgaf that badly about it but it is a bit of an annoyance IMO, especially since I feel it could have been implemented far better.

Watching Grian's perspective first it's hilarious knowing that he's at the top of the tower the whole time near the end

I really love how you protected Cleo and Grian. Keeping your loyalty to them was more important than success. You get all my respect for that.

I wish Gems task hadn't ruined everyone elses tasks. Evil Scar was working out so well and I wanted to see Tango build a giant butt next to BDubs earth base as a 'moon' 😂

Was literally thinking the same thing. Like, don't get me wrong, it was fun watching everything devolve into chaos but, I wanted more Etho being the devil on Cleo's shoulder. This way, it almost feels like a rush to end the series.

On one side i agree with all this, the secret tasks are great, but i understand that from the moment someone gets knocked out of the season, it really is better if everything is hurried up, cause the people who get eliminated from the series are essentially "losing content" (and seeing other people have fun without em) so if you dont hurry up the pace a bit, especially when there were still so many greens, it can be unpleasent.

The fact that Cleo's demon was way more active than her angel is surprisingly realistic

Etho and Cleo's dynamic this season is incredible. From troubled violent parents last season to GOALS.

“I bet he hasn’t said 5 words to you this entire season.” “That’s why he’s her favorite.” Absolutely cackling XD

I love that etho knew were grian was at 44:07 but left it at a glance to not draw attention to him

damn it feels like this task was picked to get more reds again after the events of the last session

I love how 2 episodes ago Etho was an angel of sorts and now he's a devil. The secret keeper is indecisive, it seems.

Etho's not washed up, he's just hygienic

Etho looking at the enderman, then proceeding to run towards all the Boogeyman-infected was both the worst decision ever, and hilarious.

I've seen some people suggest that everyone has a secret task for the whole season, that we don't know about (like Grian burning his bases down). If that's true, I think Etho has to always pick up items other player drop - like at 26:15. Looking back, I think he's picked up random stuff a bunch this season

9:10 was hilarious, its like Etho became his own devil on his shoulder.

All of the others that were infected could have chosen not to participate & hit fail. All of the others that were infected could have chosen not to break up their own alliances. All of the others that were infected could have chosen to attack the ones who infected them instead of those uninfected. While I think Gem's task was TOO MUCH & TOO FAR, you were more loyal to your original alliance with Cleo & Grian than anybody else was to theirs. That's more restraint than any of the other "zombies" showed, even with Gem initially telling Impulse & Scott to stay away from her after reading her task then later infecting Impulse & later hunting actively for Scott. You are now my favorite among everybody who got infected.

That zombie task appeared a bit early for the entertainment the server has brought (assuming no schedule/expected length issue for the participants). Like an author rushing a book to get any ending.

Etho is such a cool guy. Towards the end he just went "actually, I don't think I will kill my allies." And I think that's awesome

Etho is the best teammate ever! Didn't call Cleo and Grian out, despite knowing where both of them were! Props to you, Etho, I hope you win this season, cuz this was such a nice deed in this mayhem of an episode!

So Etho's task was actually badly written. The angel had a line about there being an devil as well and that it's a competition between the two Thankfully it didn't matter because of the zombie infection, would have sucked to fail on a technicality you couldn't have known

I dont think he can fail on a technicality that wasn't known, would have been ok for Etho to press succeed since the book did not specify that

I wonder if Ethos task was incompletely written, because Skizz's had an extra bit about "convince them to do more good than evil to succeed" but ethos feels slightly cutoff and without that clarification

i think this was definitely done to make up for last episode. The warden vs wither fight was meant to do a lot more & initiate the endgame, but it just killed two greens & purged the reds, kinda making it less hostile, so they decided to just give gem a pvp task & use that instead

Etho ever since mindcrack I’ve always enjoyed your multiplayer content, but I feel like with this series you are outdoing yourself. It’s such a fun premise and I have to really give you credit for playing it as fun as possible too.

Wow, that was something else. Besties don’t betray each other! It was so nice seeing Grian & Cleo not have to be afraid of you once you got your participation kill on Joel even though Cleo didn’t realize it until editing the episode (the scene in which you say you’ll protect her and you get in Inpulse’s way). Bdubs is so loyal to a fault. His lack of self-preservation in your favour is just nice to see in this kind of series. How I will handle you betraying him again like in Last Life after he killed Lizzie & you didn’t immediately give him a life for fulfilling his end of the deal? He died gleefully calling your name. ._. xD This series is so melodramatic who needs tv??

last life lizzie's death message said that she fell from a high place and grian killed bdubs before he got a chance to clarify in the chat, so there was no way for etho to know bdubs got that kill even if he could give a life in time. still heartbreaking though

@@bumblerbree Did you watch Etho’s perspective? He considered doing it then wanted proof. In a Life season where you’re out of the series permanently upon dying on red Etho should have just done it. Bdubs would have done the same for him without any hesitation. They were supposed to be together until the end. And now yet again Bdubs is offering to fail for Etho if he had to attack him but Etho can’t even do that. It’s his own hangup. I wish he could get over that part of himself because doing something you normally wouldn’t do leads to better content most of the time. Heck that’s practically Secret Life in a nutshell. Besides, this is Etho’s weird and ~~ quirky ~~ horsegirl era. The least he could do is sacrifice himself for his best friend. Though he might not even need to.

Love it how Etho, Cleo and Grian are the most wholesome group in the entirety of Life series, looking out for eachother ❤😂

Etho, part of why Scar was able to kill you was because the one-block-deep water really slowed you down (30:30) To go faster place blocks in the water to jump on them like lilypads! This is a speedrun strategy

I genuinely hate the way his task was written. The counterpart, Skizz, had a much more clear task, even though his was confusing as well. But anyways, great video as always

Dude, I’m 22 and I recently got back into etho since watching him as a kid. But this series is some of the best content I’ve seen in forever. Etho forever!

If Gem never hesitated to kill Scott, and Etho never covered for his teammates; the zombies would’ve won. I guess they were just, too Canadian

Watching Martyn lava Etho at the start of the episode made me realiser that it would a genius move to make the floor of a base in one of the series entirely out of waterlogged top slabs. Then if someone tries to lava you in the base, I'm pretty sure the lava would immediately turn to obsidian. And if not, it would be automatically surrounded by cobble when it tries to flow.

I wished the series went a bit longer without it being forcefully sped up like this. Either way, love the fact that you stayed loyal with your alliance especially after watching Cleo. See y'all next week!

@@achair8551 mate he literally had to get him while being chased by an enderman and gem basically did most of the damage. being double teamed isn't a good indication of survivability
