1:23 oh my God! You can use that hole to set it on a nail on a tool rack wall? I was always using it to draw circles.

Back when cable ties first came out they were about 15 cents apiece. We learned quickly how to release them without cutting, because of this. Waxed cord had been our cable tie of choice before the plastic ties came out.

Concerning the ruler, tapping the nail brads in it to draw circles, over time how many holes would fill it up till it becomes useless?

🤔I think if you make only a few holes into that wooden ruler and use a clamp to fix a piece of wooden board it can basically last forever. My idea is just hard to describe 🥲 Basically coming up with an idea to use the same holes over and over 👍

@@shadowmystery5613 Oh, ok. so roughly, if you could find a smooth strip of lath, drill a 3/4 hole in one end then proceed as in the video. I noted smooth for most lath is rough cut.

@@davidalanjonesridge9874 also, David, the hole isn't set at any precise position on the rule, nor is it a size to hold a pencil/scribe in a precise position, so it would be almost impossible or very, very difficult to draw a circle with any accuracy. This guy's got a very fertile imagination. He also thinks it's a hack to point out what the hole is actually there for, hanging it up in your workshop 😮 Much the same with the scissors. A nutcracker and a bottle opener!!! You could have knocked me down with a feather😮😮😮

@@TheFutureLooksGrimm They won't, in schools from today they're busy to keep kids away from tools, all they get to do is listen and write these days. Totally ignoring the fact that filling up your head with theoretical shit won't do, you also need to practice and develop practical skills.

You can reuse zip ties without risking poking your finger by cutting the strap just behind the head. Pull the rest of the strap through once it's cut, and you have a usable, if shorter, zip tie.

A much better jig for holding boards while you plane them is the bench hook. No clamps or vises needed. Look it up.
