I’m a former engineer from Saab. I have a neat feature for you Saab guys. If you have a 9-3 SS You can have auto opening of trunk. On the right side under the rear trim in the trunk where the spring is attached to the “swan neck” hinge of the tail gate. Detach the spring and attach it from left to right instead from right to left. (Don’t remeber what it is from beginning). We actually durability tested this and it passed. This fix never made it to production, but I always did this on my own 9-3 SS. Just push the key FOB trunk key and the tail gate will auto open. The handling forces of the trunk will also be very less, almost free weighted. Take care!

Chilled gloveboxes were quite popular in Europe at the time. I never knew Saab had them, but I do know Citroën had them. I don't get why car makers don't offer the boot to have its own climate control zone. Would be really practical to chill your groceries on a hot day.

If you have the car off and key in the ignition, if you hold down the "line" button on your keyfob while in the ignition, the SID will tell you how many keys are programmed to the car, and if your key that is being used is a regular key or valet key. I’ve owned a Saab 9-3 from 2006 for 2 months now and I always thought that the button to adjust the brightness of the instruments was in fact for the cruise control. But since the control for that is on the left handle near the wheel, I already found it so strange to have a second button for that. At the same time I was a bit disappointed to not have the possibility to adjust the brightness of my instrument panel. How wrong could I be 🤣🤣 So a big 👍🏽 for this video. To the accessory button you can, for example, buy a Saab plug&play harness kit with a relay that you placed in an pre-installed open relay slot in the fuse box in the engine compartment and that makes it quick and easy to install extra high beam lights in the front (button then is for on/off extra lights when the car is on high beam). It’s an option that is quite popular in north of Sweden. Original fitted smart slot is intended to be used for credit card etc. For the next video you can show how to see the engine oil quality, how to use the coming-home lights and how to program the ACC unit (see user manual)

Comfort windows/roof. On the convertible (I believe the Arc's and Aero's) you had the option to open and close the top including the windows. By holding the open it close button on the key fob. Variable boot space: My old 900ng and 9-3 convertible had a standard option in which you could raise the compartment where the roof actually folds in to, so you had more space. Coming home: Flick the high beam when you are parked and the low beam will turn on for 30secs. And all the little aviation hints that are included in every Saab model. Got to love those!

So, right now, I use the 3rd setting. If I want to adjust it, I just move it and press "MEM" (Memory) and it will overwrite my last selected setting. If I press "2", however, it adjusts my mirrors downwards and my seat slightly upwards. It's my "parking setting" so to speak since I usually sit relatively low and quite far back. This may have been mentioned already.... Haven’t owned a Saab since 2012 but I think if you hold the auxiliary - button on the remote, it triggers the panic alarm. Another feature I remember from my 2007 is if you hold the un/lock button on the doors it will trigger the panic alarm too. Thinking of selling my MK4 Jetta GLI for another Saab. Just can’t decide if I want a 9-3 or 9-5 Aero.

One 'secret feature' my 1991 900SPG had, was that when shifted in rear gear, ''back up lights turned on on the FOUR corners of the car, not only at the rear: giving a 360' vision in parking manoeuvres.. this was a Great feature. Never saw that again on my other Saabs. As well, in this car, AC/Heating system allowed you to use both, ac and heat simultaneously -> you could heat the car in winter, get it 'dry' on humid days, and get cool air by the 2 center dashboard traps and direct it to your face to prevent falling asleep on long runs, while getting heat from other outlets.. great! One you didn't mention. The Saab automatic doesn't need to have a 'Sport' button to adjust where it shifts. To me it seems that it adjusts when it shifts based on where the accelerator pedal is. Floored will take you right to the red line; down but not all the way, it will shift at a higher rpm; and if you're just accelerating slowly the shift will be early and smooth. I have a button on my '08 but it just causes the car to use a lower gear.

@@AutoAutopsy The "blind" button if you what Crash said,, Open your hood, and on the left site next to the alarm button isch, you have a connector, you get the saab harness for it, and you can plugg in whatever you want, On my old 9-3 Aero i had extra light during wintertime, Press that button and they turn on ( with original high beams ) but you need to press that button everytime you start the car. ( i have the last ever cable orio made for it =)

I have it with 220000 miles. Just a regular oil change, take care of turbo and there is no leaks or oil consumption, 9,5 litre of gasoline for 60 miles

No related to the video content, the Turbo X has a vacuum leak, when you were showing the side mirror tilt feature you can hear the vacuum pump kicking in and out

We were wondering what the noise behind the passenger headlight was.... thanks as we just got this car and didn't even have to search 🙃 6:00 is where you can hear it for those wondering 👍

I just bought a 1999 saab 9-3 in AZ that won't start. I think it needs a new twice module. Do you do repairs on Saabs?
