Your video inspired me and I built a similar box, but it was a little larger. I used the same concepts for the hidden tray, except, I used tongue and groove cedar on the inside of the box and put oak trim on top of it. The hole is covered by one piece of cedar that is glued only to the top trim, so you lift up on the trim and cedar to expose the hole. The corner and base trim are virtually the same. Since my lid was so big, I put chains on it to keep it from opening too far. Thanks!

The feet, and leaving the knot on top are what made it A+. Now you have a nice place for your ashes and a secret place for your dog's. I always feel the pressure as the final cuts are made on an object with +20 hrs already invested...take nerves of steel and concentration.
