The Oyster Bar at the Palace Station is a legendary spot amongst the locals... I remember my dad taking me there over 20 years ago!

I tried to find some but the restaurant's aren't easy to find. I kept seeing signs but couldn't find them, Vegas is so hard to navigate, there's too much effort designed around casinos and the restaurant's we did find didn't open until after we were bedded down. We're not night people and transportation was limited since we flew in. We did however find a great Italian restaurant off the strip down from our hotel which was iffy to me to walk to after dark but they whisked us right in probably for our protecton, several places seemed to do that. I guess we were just to naive of any potential danger.

You are being generous to say that the line is 1-2hrs. I have gone at odd times, mid week and still had to wait at least 2.5 hours!

Just ate here a couple weeks ago but at another Station casino. I had the third soup you tried and it was awesome.

HEY I was there a few months ago. Luckily my wait was an hour but the line was freaking wild after my family. And I got the Gumbo with 7 spice also. The family next to me thought I was crazy but Mike really influenced my eating habits. 🥵

The chef that worked on the recipes at the oyster bar worked at the boiler as the executive chef in chino hills. Pretty much the same menu and taste. No 6 hour lines here though.

Vegas has a ton of great steakhouses. Anthony’s is located in a locals casino 25 minutes away from the Strip. Of course they invited Mike Chen for a comped meal in exchange for a video. 😉

The Oyster Bar was interesting concept. What are those devices they are using to cook in???? The gumbo looked amazing. It go there for that alone.

They use steam to cook the stews and such, Grand Central Oyster Bar in NYC has been using the same cooking method for 125+ years.

OH boy, if I lived near Vegas, I would be at that oyster bar all the time! Wow! I've never had the desire to go to Vegas, until you go there and find the most amazing food! It makes everything near me in Seattle area, pale in comparison. I'd have to stay in Vegas for a lot of days to be able to eat all the things I want!

Do yourself a favor, instead of waiting 6 hours at palace station, go to their sister casino Sunset Station outside of the strip area and do the same oyster bar there. Literally no wait on most nights, and it's the same restaurant.

so far Vegas has been a disappointment in comparison to the Seattle food scene. overrated and overpriced for the most part. all the "good" food costs 4x as much as you would pay anywhere else.
