This homily really hit home for me. I’m Polish/Ukranian on moms side and Hebrew on dads side and grew up hearing stories of WW2. Many of our family members on both sides died Jewish and Catholic. It has always been hard for me to accept those who commit severe atrocities receive mercy and not what they deserve. Your Sunday sermon answered my questions to God regarding mercy and justice

This could very well be the most profound homily you've ever delivered. Through God's grace, Divine Mercy, and the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you've illuminated for me the depths of this unfathomable mystery. Delving into the trifecta of revelation over the past three days-the profound mysteries of Jesus' Sacred Heart, Mary's Immaculate Heart, and the boundless Divine Mercy of Jesus-reminds me of the incredible richness of our Catholic faith. How truly awesome it is to be part of this profound tradition.

When you mentioned Rudolf Hess, i held my breath when you said they could not find a priest to come. And I realized. We really expect a lot from each other. Then a great sense of relief when that priest was found. And it occurs to me, yes, we expect a lot from each other, because of this God that we have. We learn by example. Praise be our Lord Jesus Christ.

Lord help me forgive the ppl that say my testimony isn’t real. I know it’s just lies from the devil. Because he wants me to lose my faith and Lord it’s working. I’m losing faith. Only God knows the burdens I face. I won’t give up but I’m so tired of fighting. I’m a single mom and it is hard to have everything on my shoulders. Especially because both of my sons are special needs but despite the challenges I face. I keep faith in Jesus even as I struggle to pay rent and as I struggle to buy groceries for my children. As a christian that’s all I can do. Praise God and thank him because he will provide a blessing is always on the way in Jesus name.

Thank you for the prayers. God bless you all. I was so troubled who told me there is no dignity when a loved one (my dad) is close to death. He is in skilled nursing, and I received two snide remarks from nurses who could not understand the true teaching of the Catholic Church. Because of Jesus’s Divine Mercy, I was able to bear witness about the teachings of the Holy Church. Basically, two caregivers told me that they could not understand why I was crying over my dad. He was worthless in their eyes because he is 96 and has end stage dementia. Through your prayers and God Devine mercy, I was able to receive the mercy to advocate for my dad and tell his hospice team that we view suffering as a gift. God. Bess you all. Sorry for the typos.

Side effects from anti-psychotics prevented me from going in person, but here I am!

Such an important reminder about mercy and suffering. Especially in the context of the World War II, Rudolf Höss the head of the A-witz camp, and the horrible things done to children and the people in the camps. The worst time in the human history and yet there were people who hoped and prayed for the best. People still treated Rudolf with kindness due to God's mercy showing in people. The priest who listened to his confession must have been heavy after it. I guess it was a great first step for both- to hear confession of such a sinner and also to be willing to confess all the sins. I guess this tells us that even if someone deserves justice, that person should also be given a chance to confess and pray. Because humans should exercise human laws but also allow God to exercise God's law. The message is great. Choose God and get God. You get what you choose. Loved hearing about Nun St. Maria Fraustina of Poland. Mercy is the love of God we need the most and deserve the least. The greater the sinner, the greater the right to mercy- the power of repentance, baptism and prayer. The chaplet of Devine Mercy is indeed about mercy- Have mercy on us, a sinner. Thank you for recommending Book 33 Days to Merciful Love by Fr. Michael Gaitley -- Praise and love God- that's how to live in trust. Sacrament of confession. three ways of exercising mercy- deed (Giving), word (Speak), and prayer. Thank you so much for your work and homily, Fr. Mike, Pew Crew and Team Ascension. God heals ALL of our wounds, but out of His immeasurable wisdom, mercy. grace and love He might do not heal us the ways that we anticipated.

That was a fulminant homily, thank you Father Mike!!! 💚🙏🏼 I am actually going to watch it again because there is so much in it that I need to hear again. Thank you so much! Forgiveness is actually something I struggle with the most and it I think that's true for many, many people. One thing I would like to add from the experience of trauma healing - God does not punish. Ever. The only thing God gives to us is love. So Jesus didn't buy forgiveness or anything, He just showed it and probably even more than that, which we don't yet fully understand. Mercy is probably the thing we don't merit but we somehow still deserve and that is so difficult as mentioned in this homily. But I think forgiveness of sins does not mean erasure of deeds. Maybe it means more something like what might come of this soul if his or her actions were driven by love, not by punishment. God bless us all and thank you so much for this Sunday Mass! 💖

It’s the same as a murder victim’s family forgiving the murderer. He has been forgiven, but must still serve his time. We are forgiven, but must still spend time in purgatory.

Father Mike, I loved your homily. Thank you today for the mass, I am home with 2 sick children and unable to attend my church. I pray for my children, all 4 of them. My oldest 26 just entered the army and I pray for him to be strong and courageous. I pray for my 19 year old living with Autism that he find his way and knows that after I pass that God will be there for him. I pray for my 18 year old that he stop fighting for what God wants for him, that he stops looking in the world to fill his heart and looks to what God has for him. I pray for my 8 year old that he forgive me for being so tired and short tempered and for the anxiety I have given him, I pray he has peace. Please pray for them Thank you and God Bless

Whoa, homily was *Amazing*!!! Here's how i digested this: Like it or not, the sacrifice made by Christ is strong enough EVEN 4 HESS. YUP. We kinda have to ... just eat it! But at the same time, if the truism of "Sin is Sin" holds blood, then we ought to be grateful for that strength & depth... as none of us know if any of our sins is really lesser in gravity, to God. ...
