@@feritazlan4804 They didn't run away. They died while fighting. Abdali never came back after the war. He lost his money, army, and weapons. Nobody helped Marathas to fight outsiders (Abdali). The war was between outsiders and Indians. Not Hindu and Muslim. Because the commander of the Maratha army's Artillary and Gun army was Ibrahim Gardi (a Muslim from India). Maratha's army was made up of all casts and religions.

The only reason that Mughals won the battle of Panipat was due to Hemchandra Vikramaditya's untimely death.........if he had not taken an arrow to the eye, perhaps the history of the Indian subcontinent would have been different and instead of suffering under cruel rulers like Aurangzeb, India might even have been united under a Hindu dynasty and as a Hindu empire for the first time since the fall of Vardhan dynasty and the Triumvirate empires era.
