Sebring Race - RUSH SR (Andor Tobelem)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is Race 2 during a NASA event on April 16th, 2022 at 2:00 PM.
Track temperature was over 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
This was my the first time driving the RUSH SR at Sebring. The car had no set-up and was on very used tires (Nankang AR-1's). Only update to the car was swapping out the stock 15 tooth sprocket for a 16 tooth sprocket as on the 15, it was topping out on the back straight. What I noticed was that the top speed did not actually see much of an increase on the 16 tooth but the car ran cooler.
Average lap times I was doing was around 2:25 - 2:26 with my fastest being 2:24.750.
There was another Rush SR driven by a Pro-Driver on newer Nankang AR-1's that ran consistently in the 2:20's all day. I can see the RUSH SR laping 3-4 seconds faster on Hoosier slicks.

Read your description. My buddy is thinking about ordering a car, and brought me in for my bike knowledge. Just figured I'd share some insight, not sure on the rush how hard it is to find different rear sprockets, but 1=3. Going up 1 in the front is sorta the same as going down 3 in the rear. Changes to the front sprocket can have a big impact on torque, that's why you didn't see an increase in top speed. If you can, I'd go back to the 15 tooth, but go up 2 teeth in the rear. See how that does for you. For reference, my go to gearing on my bike is -1 front, and -2 rear. Seems wierd, but it puts me in a good balance outta the corner and top speed for my skill level.

Thank you so much for the input. Sprockets aren’t hard to come by. There is a Rush running out in the west coast in Cali who went up on the rear so it’s possible. The car at this race was running the stock Suzuki factory ECU which closes the secondaries on top of 5th & 6th and limits rpm in 5th and 6th to 11k. RushAutoWorks has sent out a new flash removing those restrictions and that changed everything. With the new tune a 15 front ⚙️ is perfect. Won’t hit redline either. Speed on back straight is just around 130-132 so a 6mph gain. For the spec Rush series, only changes to the front sprocket is allowed but for these NASA ST2 races, I’m definitely going to look into some rear ⚙️ to get that perfect gearing without compromising tq.

God I wish these were less than $40k… They advertise for $27k but when you price it realistically you’re looking at $40-$50k off the lot.

Did you soften the stock springs for Sebring? You don't seem to be fighting the car as much as I was at MSR Houston Perhaps it is an alignment issue. I can't wait to get mine (still about a month out, sadly). Looks like you are getting more settled with the car, nicely done!

Nope. Zero adjustments. Still on the original factory setup. The factory setup is muchhhhhhh more forgiving than the red prototype they run. I know Blair has the red car setup a bit tail happy, which is how I would prefer it as well but haven’t had the chance to setup and make adjustments

looks like a rock solid track car. is it manageable for entry level?

Most definitely! As the price point of a brand new Rush SR is low, majority of new owners are entry level drivers.

@@AndorTobelem that's what I was hoping for. I figured the price point was perfect for new drivers.
