@Jejking - Stewards are quite lenient on racing lines, especially on the outside line of fast single corners where there are kerbs next to it. Usually, if you have two wheels still inside the kerbs, you're not reprimanded for it.

I dont even remember that even being so fast. Just watch old f1 and you'll see. New or old layout it wasn't as fast as this. Maybe this is where they got 2 seconds off the lap record.

It's still heartbreaking. This was the last day of the "old" Vettel. This sunday really did change him and it could have easily been avoided by Ferrari in my opinion, if they would have let him pass Kimi right after the pit stop, so he didn't lose time behind him, which made him having to push leading into the error, that he still shouldn't have done, of course.

There was a moment before he crashed that he lost a part of his front wing, why there is no footage about that moment in the KZread? he had understeer because of that. the 2018 (and older) cars had an extra wash out part on each side of their front wing which was obvious from the onboard camera. you can see the right one in here . because of the angle of cam the left one is not visible.

This crash in Germany was the start of his decline. I think this destroyed him mentally and he has not yet recovered. It was the ultimate defeat. Hamilton somewhere in the back, he up in front and even leading the championship but then crashing out due to his own fault bringing out the safety car and getting Lewis up to the front. He pulled out only a few decent performances after this but he was never the same driver. He started making mistakes way too often and never competed at the front consistently anymore. So sad to see, if it was not for this crash they might have carried momentum and motivation instead of desperation into the next races and they might have won more, leading to a close championship battle between Lewis and Seb right until the end.

Mercedes destroyed Ferrari and other competitor with their politics. They said always they want competitive rivals but the true it's different. They always are in the Edge of the regulation. The other can't beacuse they don't want and they will complain with the FIA. Ferrari engine was dismantle and the scuderia will not win until 2022, it's a fact.

But if you want to, then check out Formula 1.5 on Reddit.) Without Mercedes, Red bull domination would have continued for longer. And there would be Ferrari domination in 2017-2018. Boring.

And he even missed his best time in sector 3 where he was fastest before as well. He could have been more than half a second ahead of Bottas! But what I am wondering about right now is why his third sector time is shown green here? I watched quali live on German tv and it was shown yellow, which also makes more sense, as he lost around 2 tenths on Bottas there. But on his first lap in Q3 he set the new best time in sector 3. So I don't think he set a fastest personal best for sector 3 in his pole lap while losing 2 tenths on Bottas, which would mean that Bottas in the Merc, that really doesn't like slower corners, must have been teleporting himself through there. Anyone agree with me or witnessed the same?

Props to Bottas being the only one to contest Vettel in Q3. It's tough keeping up to Vettel in any race this year.

As a Seb fan since I was three, this is amazing because he was absolutely brilliant in the right car, but also massively heartbreaking. He was never the same again after that Sunday. Really missing this old Seb, I hope he can make a comeback this year, I'd love to see that. Long live. Du bist, WELTMEISTER!

@@adityatyagi464 on some tracks yes they were. The 2019 rules initially slowed down the cars but the rapid development meant the 2019 cars quickly overtook the 2018 cars anyway. But even still, at some tracks, the 2018 cars were faster. Spa for example, the fastest time in 2018 set by Vettel in Q2 (rain in Q3) was a 41.5, and LeClerc’s 2019 pole lap was a 42.5.

C3lloman because he had to play second fiddle to Lewis, however when rosberg was in the Mercedes, neither of them finished below 2nd in the championship because they were always fighting for the championship. Which invalidates your point about bottas finishing 5th. If bottas was allowed to fight and win races for himself, no doubt would he had finished 3rd at the very least.

What an astonishing quick and tidy lap Super gutting it didn't materialize into a win and killed Ferrari campaign further

I think that's quite obvious, isn't it ? Even the late Ayrton Senna only managed to win his 3 titles in totally dominant cars. However, that wasn't my point. What I meant was, if Vettel have had the all dominant Mercs of 2014-2017 in his hands *AND* Hamilton as his team mate, I totally believe Seb would have 8 WDC titles in a row by now.

As sad as the Germany crash was, I don’t think seb would’ve won the championship anyway. Mercedes just kept upgrading and eventually Lewis would’ve caught up

Race Crunch 50 points behind and fia have closed Ferrari loophole so there engine is now slower then mercedes

Firemarioflower they have. Check out Peter Windsor video. Hamilton said there were tricks on their engine. Those tricks are now gone

Maybe next year with the new regulations, this year it looks like he'll be at the back on the midfield unless aston martin figure out their downforce problems
