I'm not sure if it's intentional, but the story seems to want you to view Solomon's death as tragic, but managed to actually make him such a colossal monster that frankly I didn't bat an eyelid. From the moment we meet him, he's just downright nasty. Destroying the Shrivelfig was unnecessary. Worst case scenario was that it would do nothing, so why snatch it away from Sebastian and Anne? He flat-out screams in Sebastian's face, and then blames Anne's attack on him, despite Anne telling us that it comes and goes on its own. Think about that for a second. Solomon used Anne's agony against Sebastian, merely to 'win' their argument. That's brutal. Then of course when Sebastian later saves his sister's life, Solomon's first reaction is to complain at how he did it. Lastly of course, when he finds us in the crypt, this experienced ex-Auror begins using lethal spells at two 15 year old students. This is directly after destroying an artifact which 'might' have helped Anne. It's almost like he wants her cursed so he can look after her and have a meaning in his life. Despite the PC begging Solomon to stop attacking, he still conjured flaming columns to try to murder us, so frankly if Sebastian didn't end him I was going to.

Sebastian supporters are absolutely insane. If Solomon wanted to hurt you, you'd be dead. He's an ex-Auror. He could've torn both Sebastian and the MC to pieces in seconds. He was massively holding back. He just wanted Sebastian to stop, but the little psycho lost his mind. Anne didn't want any of this and even begged him to stop tampering with Dark Magic. As he proved, no good comes of it.

If he truly wanted to kill two kids, he would have. He's an ex-Auror. In fact, he could've reported Sebastian after he saw him use imperious, but he didn't.

my favorite missions in the whole game were missions with Sebastian. these missions are the most intresting and also he teached us all the most intresting spells

The uncle annoyed me. Instead of taking care of the Inferi and helping us, he decided to incendio me and Sebastian.

What I didn't like was that there really was no middle ground to learn Avada kedavra in this quest like there was with crucio (which is arguably worse). If you want to learn it then you basically have to support your friend commiting cold blooded murder.

The irony of this is this is what the Relic kinda hinted at what someone had to do to unlock the true power of it. Maybe the unforgivable was to kill a family member with the killing curse. This was a hard quest for me to beat; mainly because I didn’t use crucio or imperio on the uncle. I may have used both on the inferi, but I wasn’t gonna use it on Solomon. After all, he may have been a bit of a jerk, but he wasn’t exactly a villain. I turned Sebastian in, but not before learning the third and final unforgivable curse.

What have YOU done? Omg i nearly died laughing myself after that one...

so that was the price of avada kedavra... I surely will missed the spell if I'm not watching this video

So bottom line, Anne stays cursed no matter what path or dark choices you make in the game?

Like in this example just destroying a relic which is not necessarily bad. Sebastian was looking for a way to reverse but he should be more carefull. The uncle just barges in and destroys the only hope he had and just insults the idea again

@@wubbalubbadubdub5867 The game made it clear that his uncle not only explained the consequences several times (including telling him that using Dark Magic is a one way ticket to Azkaban), but also that he and Anne both told Sebastian to _accept_ it. Anne flat out told him she accepted what was happening to her and that she made peace with it. His uncle never insulted him, he was trying to _protect_ him. A dark artefact isn't a toy.

Ominis, Anne, his uncle, even the MC (if you don't fall for his BS) tell Sebastian to STOP. The lore all throughout Harry Potter makes it crystal clear that anything related to the Dark Arts is corrupted, evil, it never heals. You can also tell from Anne's attachment to her uncle that Solomon was none of the things Sebastian accused him of. And yes, the little murderer absolutely thought the artefact was a toy. Just look at how he was playing with it to control the inferi. He thought it was _fun,_ and he refused to listen to what anyone said about it. Then, after he killed his uncle, he blamed Anne for her own death, because she destroyed the book. Everything is everyone else's fault, right? It's never Sebastian's. But like Anne said, he made his choice, and now he's suffering the consequences. He lost his sister not to the curse, but to his own arrogance.

I mean... avada Kadavra is a bit extreme, BUT his uncle attacked first.

If Solomon would've still had the Artifact, Sebastian would've used Crucio/Imperio because it'd still give him the option of saving Anne while not killing Solomon. Watching Solomon take away Anne's last hope though, that was all Sebastian needed to use Avada Kedavara.

No, he was protecting his family as best he could, but Sebastian had fallen so deep into the darkness, that killing him was realy the only option. Sadly, the years of staying out of practice to protect his niece took their toll. A Solomon in his prime would have had Sebastian subdued/dead in a matter of moments.

@@ImKevPev There wAS no cure. The artifact in question probably would have killed Annie, the dark arts destroy, they never heal. The artifact was probably lying about what it could do, to drive men to do unspeakable evils to obtain it, only to find out that it was all for naught.

The relic is a chaos object from Warhammer 40k I smell heresy and corruption

What’s so tragic is that Anne was clearly a gifted witch. With her schooling suspended and being hindered by the curse she was so powerful. What could she have become?

I think this storyline would've been better if Sebastian wasn't trying to justify himself and instead was just trying to come to terms with what he did. Would've been more heartbreaking.

Well that’s something great they worked into the fight. If you try to use imperio on Solomon mid-fight to get free damage in, he fights it off and it has no effect. In the books Barry Crouch Jr disguised as Mad-Eye actually teaches the students how to fight off the imperius curse in DADA. It makes sense that Solomon would also have training to fight it off given he is an ex-auror

@@ei05056 How is killing someone with Avada Kedavra (completely painless and does the job instantly) makes it anymore unforgivable then any of the other 100+ spells which you can use to kill someone?

The only issue I have with the conclusion of this quest is that such an obviously powerful Dark Relic was so easily destroyed. You'd think such an artifact would need more than just a simple spell to be destroyed. Just look at the Horcruxes Voldemort created. Each one needed powerfully corrosive venom and Fiendfyre to be destroyed.

I never really cared for or liked Sebastian but this scene made me respect him a little bit, Man Avada Kedavrad his own uncle, Gotta respect that.

That's what I did too, but then the Uncle decided he was going to attack two 15 year olds with lethal spells instead of killing the inferi with us, so he sealed his fate. As an auror he knew exactly how to disarm two children, but he meant to kill us

So you kill people just because they annoys you? Despite all the negative scene, the uncle was caring for Sebastian sister and took care of her, he truly loved her and tried the best for Sebastian, who was desesperate, since the beginning. Closing all, Sebastian say, over and over, that he become attacked, while in the scene we are able to saw that the uncle was not very much a threat.

What’s the name of the music?

I think Sebastian is going to be the next big bad in the series. He comes out of hiding and returns to Hogwarts with a new attitude and becomes more in tune with the dark arts without using a wand to cast them and sets up a "Dumbledore vs Grindelwald" style of feud with our character, where he's determined to destroy every foundation of Hogwarts by targeting the Ancient Magic underneath the school.

I sent him to Azkaban after that... He broke his sister's heart...

Marvolo Gaunt, Voldemort's grandfather, is described in the books as being "elderly" in the year 1925. This game is set in 1890, when Ominis is 15. Assuming elderly means 65+, Marvolo must be older than Ominis, so Voldemort can't be Ominis' direct descendant.

I don't know why but all of this feels so unimpactful, the emotions feel very flat and without depth. I mean your character just stands there like a tree, the killing curse will be difficult to master Sebastian says and 5 seconds later you learned it after some nonsensical button press. The way that he always shouts every single spell he performes is going to get annoying very fast... all and all it feels like a game that needed a bit more work, could be fun for a while but nothing spectacular i think..

He has the spell book for a whole season. You find it in fall with him. And this takes place in the winter. Paired with his obsession it’s not far fetched he studied intensively to use avada kedavra. Also he learned his uncle planned on taking his twin somewhere far he was running out of time and decides it best to get rid of his “obstacle” in the moment

@@austinbyrd1703 i have, about 10h in, it's fun but the main character feels completely without a "character". Its nice to have something new from the HP world, but i feel like i will finish it and sell it back, we'll see maybe it's gonna surprise me with a mind bending ending/endings. All these choices I'm making better bring me to some unique and satisfying ending.

@@Xxsorafan they are unforgivable curses for a reason, if all you need to do is study without an actual practice and the deep desire to kill someone, it wouldn't be so mystirious, dark and difficult to perform. For the 3 dark curses they could have made a simple choice of you being able master them only if you are Slytherin/if you made evil choices/ if you've filled up a renegate meter and stuff like that. That would make it far more believe that a person like that would or could be able to use and master the forbidden curses. Like i don't have them yet but I've read online that there aren't any negative repercussions for using them, the world doesn't really react to it apparently. If thats true the game dropped a few points in my book, but we'll see what the ending is, if it will be worth replaying or not.

Sebastian is such an evil monster. I hope we get a dlc where we get the chance to kill him..

Yeah he's kind of the embodiment of the phrase "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" I truly believe he wanted to help his sister at first but after a while it became twisted into proving his uncle wrong even when talks about trying to save Anne it starts to sound more and more selfish "She's MY sister" ,"I refuse to lose her" etc. Makes him sound like he's got a sister complex

Sebastian never truly cared about anything but power, his sister was merely an excuse to gain it. Protip: when everyone in your f-ing family is telling you to stop, YOU SHOULD PROBABLY STOP! I have NO pity for him, whatsoever!

@@user-bc8mm3gj8s The issue there was that he cast an unforgivable in instinct. The desire to save his sister is to be commended but he was now so deep in the dark arts that unforgivables were now second nature to him. Any other spell would have worked. Accio to pull the goblin away, de pulso to push it away, glacius to freeze it, levioso to make him hover, he had options. Sebastian’s biggest weakness is that he doesn’t know when to stop. Solomon saw that long before we even start Hogwarts. Sebastian had gotten to a point in his mindset where you were either with him or against him.

@@Dragon_Lair Well, you know, this is already from the series: You saw a maniac with a knife running at your sister, and you had a gun in your hands. You can shoot him and definitely save your sister, or you can go at him with your fists, which will stop the maniac, but obviously not for long.

@@user-bc8mm3gj8s When that gun is capable of freezing, pulling, pushing, levitating or transfiguring anything then yes, there is still a choice. Sebastian was right to save his sister but his instinctive choice of spell, which he was able to cast despite it being an unforgivable (meaning that true intent to dominate without regard for the others freedom to choose) shows his moral fiber has been compromised. His ability to successfully cast imperio is proof of that. The unforgiveables just don’t work otherwise.

Idk. I thought it was fine. Not everyone is going to scream it like Voldemort from the movies. I also like the way this scene played out. I can feel how Sebastian feels and I can feel his instant regret after he does it. He can feel how horrible what he just did was

I mean uncle was asshole i gave up on her man was just trying to save her if he letted him do that he prob would save her and uncle wouldnt have to die..........

Exactly, the reason he died was because he was always a douche to Sebastian. Maybe if he had acted with a little more compassion towards his nephew and actually put himself in the position of Sebastian, things could have been different. The player had a choice, but so did the uncle as well.

​@@felixsantamaria200 I always got the vibe that Solomon never really wanted to take in Sebastian and Anne. He only did so because there was no one in their family left after their parents died. He was fine with Anne because she always listened to him right away but didn't like Sebastian because he was more rebellious and finally just gave up on him. I don't believe Sebastian ever meant to kill Soloman but that Avada Kedavra was years of anger, frustration, fighting, and the fear of losing his sister finally coming to a head

Sebastian had fallen to the depths of darkness in an attempt to prove himself better than everyone else. Look at how he talks at the end. "*I* am going to save her!" "She's *MY* sister!" That kind of talk shows that he really only cares about himself. He's deluded himself into believing that he cares for his sister, but it's really all about a freaking ego trip for him now! He's completely lost it, sadly.
