Sebastian, your mind is playing tricks on you. The chances of being drafted from HS to the NBA is 0.03%. Not only were you a lottery pick, but lasted 10 years in a sea of great white sharks. This alone makes you an outlier and in rare air. Now you just need to focus on how do you leverage the discipline, commitment, and work ethic it took to make it to the league and parlay it into another opportunity. There are many lessons to be taught from your accomplishments. In my view, your success rests in the game you’ve already mastered. Go back and wake her up.

One of the very few players to get invited to Adidas ABCD camp as a FRESHMAN IN HS. Anyone that knows basketball knows that back in the day if you got invited to ABCD, you were legit. Especially the battles Charlie Villanueva and Travis Outlaw had. They stayed dunking on each other. Lenny Cooke vs LeBron James. Stewart twins. Kendrick Perkins. Derrick Character. Luol DO ALL Deng. Ray Felton. CP3. Mike Jones. James Lang. JR Giddens. Dwight Howard. Al Jefferson. Mustafa Shakur. Hassan Adams. Paul Davis. Carmelo Anthony. Shaun Livingston. Nate Robinson. JJ Redick. Darius Washington. From 2001-2004 ABCD was loaded AF

Keon Alexander..I got goosebumps reading your post....used to go to ABCD @FDU EVERY YEAR.Bassy actually played at ABCD right before he entered his freshman yr.Nobody EVER did that....I was there when McGrady was there #175....his name wasn't even in the rosters!! His performance at the camp took him straight from H.S to the NBA draft. He showed out.He went from no name to MVP at the camp....all my years going there I think he got the biggest response from the crowd when he windmill dunked on 6 '10"James Felton ( i think). The coaches went crazy!!! At that moment you KNEW he was going straight to the pros.I saw Glen Bateman ( 6'10" 300+ lbs ) break a rim on a dunk and shut down a game.I instantly knew Eddy Curry was gonna be a bum when i saw him get blocked by the rim in warm ups and fell on his back...and he was arguably the top player in the country!!! Leon Powe and Lebron played on the same team at ABCD.....guess who had better stats? Powe was a man!!! I sat and talked with him in the stands....he had hands like a 20 yr mechanic!! So many stories...O.J.Mayo calling out Lance.O.J.Mayo & Bill Walker on the same team!!! You mentioned the Stewart twins....you know why they never came back? Because they didn't put em on the same team...I heard them say it....and they were PISSED!!

Buggin. Telfair underachieved, comparing himself to the avaerge Joe, the non athlete or non NBA Player, of course to that standard he has "made it" , but to what degree. Comprabably to what he was has a professional athlete, he failed. You dont compare that to the average person who didn't posses any type of ability or skill in a sporting occupation to the utmost professional level. You dont compare The performance of a Ferrari to a Kia, you dont compare Tier A vehicles to Tier C or D. You dont compare A collegiate athlete to a professional, you dont compare A MLS player to someone in the Premier League. Comparing Welterweights and Heavyweights. In his class he underachieved, not because he didnt have enough skill, or talent or because of a troubled upbringing, but homeboy got complacent, didnt work on his game, lacked heart, and let fame/money get to him. Ultimate goal is be the best at what you do (pasdion) and to maximize your potential to the utmost level, if all he care was about money, nigga should've just robbed a bank. Nigga should've went to college for at least 3 years and developed his game, he wasnt ready right after high school especially being undersized at 5'11. Look at Kemba Walker from the Bronx, he could've easily been the next Telfair, or Allen Iverson who who chose to go to Geargetown and also had a troubled upbringing. Telfair, underachieved miserably. Period.

Using the NBA as a fountain of money is why hes a scrub. Patting him on the back, because hes "winning in life, via making money in the NBA" compared to what a average person can do is not a achievement.

I respect him because he realized that, accepted that reality and is moving forward. Bassy's probably only 33 or 34 right now, and still has 50 or 60 years ahead of him god willing. I'm not sure if rapping is the wave he should be on, but I guarantee he'll find his niche at the right time. Sometimes you go through things so your story becomes that much more inspirational. I don’t feel bad for him but he truly squandered his opportunity with the NBA. At some point you have to change how you think and the people you surround yourself with. Unfortunately, this was something Sebastian was never able to understand and put into motion. That attachment to the hood was just something he couldn’t shake. He’s 33 now and STILL doesn’t get it. Kinda sad when you think about it...
