Heck yeah! Welcoming all yous to our world of kelp at Atlantic Sea Farms!
This Brad Leone channel is such a breath of fresh air. Good production quality, good people, good topics, and that Leone charm.
The energy levels with Brad and Bri are off the charts. Love it.
I can’t wait to see Brad visit a garlic farm or do something garlic related! That will make my day!

Like a 2 part epoxy!
To those who don't know, the oceans absorb more carbon from the atmosphere than trees. Kelps love to eat that so in turn it helps to reduce water temperatures which then help to fend off storms from hitting land, that helps to reduce damage to infrastructure, less damage means less maintenance so money can be rerouted to other areas of governance. Kelps are essentially the hemp of the sea but it takes in more carbon ❤
So glad that you decided to do this on your own Brad, you carried that other channel for so long. Where could you go to find out about sustainable aquaculture here in Texas? You should do an episode about bycatch because people don't understand that there are other fish that are delicious that get wasted just because they are not on the list for the grocery store.

Very hard to grow kelp in the Gulf since the droppoff is very steep. You really need shoals to do it properly. Temperature is probably a bit of an issue for most breeds of kelp as well.

"I'm from New Jersey, I speak poor English" Brad you had me rolling
I'm loving how the Local Legends episodes are so culturally- n socio-ecologically-minded 💚 keep doing it!!
love this series Brad...learned a lot on this one
I feel like Brad hasn’t been in front of the camera for a long time and you could kinda see it in some of the earlier episodes. But recent videos have a "good ol’ Brad" vibe to them. Good for you buddy!
We must protect Brad at all costs.
The part @5:48 about commercial fishing ownership made me proud to have spent a decade in a similar individual ownership model. Just three guys (me, my best bud, and his dad). One 28' skiff. 6 or 7 "setnetting" gillnets. 10 years. We must have picked between 300,000-500,000 red (sockeye) salmon. Pulled the boat out by hand (sometimes against 6'+ breakers). Pulled the nets by hand (no hydraulics). Pitched the fish by hand (no seine bags). Took a lot of salt spray over the bow. Got a lot of bruises and sore muscles. Didn't make too much money, but was a hell of a time! 10 years on a small crew like that, it's like you read each others minds and predict every movement.
This is insanely fascinating. Love the editing too. I could literally watch 1000 local legends episodes, bravo guys 😊
Amazing! Loving the new channel!!
"I just can't kelp myself". I sea what you did there.
Great episode! I never knew New England kelp was a thing!
I frickin love this channel. It was all I hoped for.
I love this intro song.
Bradley, imagine you got in touch with one of the contestants from Alone and did a primitive living/cooking episode with them 😍🤩😍🤩😍
Well Bri seems like the coolest lady ever
Another banger Brad... And that jingle? So fucking catchy!
Just as i was rewatching the good ol BA videos with Brad, this gem popped up
'i just came kelp myself' dad pun win!
Bri's laugh is so infectious 😅. Another great episode!
Take a shot every time she say “Look at that color”
"The comebacks always bigger then the setback" Awesome show, awesome shots, just crushed it across the board bud!
Suddenly I'm craving kelp stipes
I'd Love for Brad to make a Wild Rice video. It's seasonal and only a select few get to do it.
OH HELL YEAH I LOVE SEAWEED I LOVE THIS EP
I can’t get over how awesome the intro music is for this show. I end up replaying multiple times before watching the whole vid lol

@@wanderbust Every time I watch one of these vids, without me even realizing it, that little clip of a song gets stuck in my head!😂 Great work on making such a catchy, short tune; i'm sure you could get onto the radio eventually with some full length work. The vibe of it reminds me of Cheerleader a little bit. Thanks for the music!🤙
Great episode!! I love that you’re bring more attention to kelp. Can’t wait for part 2 to see how you cook what you harvested.
This was so uplifting and awesome.
This rocks. I’m so glad Brad is doing this show
Love it. Another great episode. But, Brad (and company)! You gotta put Brad's lovable kisser bigger in the thumbnail so I know it's his show without reading the title.
i love this show, who knew kelp was so cool🖤🖤
man, all these coastal new england vids make me miss home. great stuff, bud
Man watching bon appetite then this is such a different vibe so happy for you b Rad !
DEF envious of you taking a bite out of that kelp fresh from the ocean 😭
Out of all of the post-BA crew, this channel is the best.
Slowing Turing into my new favorite channel, I’m just waiting for Matty M. to make an appearance
Is it possible to find the Local legends theme tune somewhere? Shit's banging. Harrison has done a great job!

No joke, the highlight of my day when I get to watch an episode of this series.
I am now desperate to take a bite of sugar kelp straight from the water, thanks Brad
Somehow I missed this when it first came out. Glad KZread snick it into my recommended list after watching the cast iron episode. It looked like you were leaving from the Falmouth town landing, which is a couple of blocks from where I grew up (I still marvel at how amazingly lucky it was that my mom and stepfather were able to get really affordable rent for a house right near the ocean for so long). It's been great to see seaweed really taking off as a food harvested/grown in Maine, as a way to serve a more vegetarian lifestyle. I'm a big fan of kelp, especially. (A different Maine company has apple smoked kelp flakes that I've been using for a long time for seasoning lots of dips and dressings and veggies and such.) Oh, I'm wondering if you'll ever do a show on salt harvesting on this channel (I know you did one for those *other* people). Maine has a lot of salt companies too. Finally, do you know about the Common Ground Fair that the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) puts on every September in tiny little Unity? It's a huge festival that's focused primarily on locally made organic food, both packaged and made there on the fairgrounds. They have a rule that the fairground food has to be heavily focused on Maine grown organic ingredients. And the festival is on the grounds of a working farm and orchard. It's an amazing resource for anyone interested in growing their own food, and living off the land in general. (And occasionally the sea, too. :-)
Those are our besties @AtlanticSeaFarms!!! Maybe someday you'll come and check out one of our mills!!!
Omg yassss mainers! Thanks again for sharing the unique parts of our state and the peeps that make it BITCHIN AS HELL
There’s a modern classic happening here. Outstanding work by all involved!
The Brad vibe is just fine!

Hello from Falmouth, Cornwall, UK
Another fantastic episode! Thank you for sharing it with us. I really want some kelp kraut or kimchi that sounds amazingly delicious. Keep em coming pretty please!

@@ask9087 I would honestly jump at the chance to try lab grown meat but given the choice, I imagine most people would opt for the grass fed steak option. I don't think there is a way to fulfill the world's ever increasing demand for meat with either the battery farmed or grass fed option.

@@ask9087 can I ask why exactly? what makes you hesitant about lab grown meat and would you feel similarly about, for example, whey protein produced by genetically modified yeast? I'm curious
@unlessyoucanbebatman

@@ask9087 If given the choice between lab grown meat and crickets, I'd personally prefer the former, though I've heard that cricket flour is pretty much indistinguishable in a final product while still packing tons of protein. Considering Brad's advocation for alternative food sources, I doubt he'd draw a hard and fast line at lab grown meat.
Great stuff!
Kelp on kelpin on man. You brighten up my day. All good vibes from Lawtey, Fl.
Hell yeah Brad!
LOOOOOOOVE THIS ONEEEEEE LOVEEEEE KELP AND KELP FARMING!!!!!!!!!!!! Go Brad!!!! Go Bri!!!!!!!!!!
It’s amazing in stocks and fried cabbage.
Leone is the guy we all love a joint or a pint he’s become a local himself
Brad! Come duck hunt with us this year! We will render some duck fat and roast down some necks for stock! Maybe make some wild game dishes, and I’ll even take you picture, let’s make it happen. I work for a gear company, all you have to do is show up!
Anyone who partners with Yeti is a winner!!! Love their products. Kelp is delicious and such a diverse product to use. Thank you for profiling it!!
I absolutely love it!!!
Brad, since you’ve been up in Maine a lot recently, you should check out Vessel and Vine in Brunswick. My sister owns it and has absolutely built it from the ground up. They do wine and other little treats, a cocktail bar, and some small-time foods. Nika is a master forager, wine pairing genius, very very rootsy and unique. I think she’s a bit of a local legend at this point
everytime he says wouder (water) i take a drink ;)
Highly recommend the book Eat Like a Fish if you find this stuff interesting.

This is such a weird gripe but I miss the music style on its alive with brad. A lot of the music chosen for these make me sad lol, there like happy memories vacation vibes oppose to silly dorky having fun with brad vibes. Just something that I keep noticing feel like it'll make a big impact on the video's. Love the work

this fucking rocks! Much respect for the filmers / editors that couldnt have been easy recording sound on the boat, thanks for presenting some optimism around climate change and sustainability as well - one thing, feel like the audio on brads post-narration was a little funky compared to the rest of the sound. Super cool work ya’ll
Great stuff brad! Haven't been exposed to much seaweed, love learning more
