Seattle Overview | An informative introduction to Seattle, Washington

Seattle is arguably the most beautiful city in America. I lived there for a couple years as a child, which really sparked my interest in cities and skyscrapers. Thanks for watching: Seattle Overview | An informative introduction to Seattle, Washington

- Boeing is no longer headquartered in Seattle. It moved it's headquarters to Chicago and then to the DC area this year (2023).
- I made the mistake of referring to Pike Place as "Pikes" Place.
- The second image of the floating bridge is of a shorter floating bridge near Seattle, but not the one that I was referring to.

One thing that really struck me about Seattle was the Iconic Skyline. Not only has it grown a ton over the years, but that backdrop from Queen Anne Hill lookin south and seeing Mt. Rainier is just awesome. I’m also quite impressed on how they managed to finally knock down the Alaskan Way Viaduct, which really gave Seattle a bad reputation for seein the Skyline from the Sound. I’m glad that they have a bright future for that area, now that the Viaduct is finally gone. It reminds me of when SF knocked down the Embarcadero.

"I’m also quite impressed on how they managed to finally knock down the Alaskan Way Viaduct". That was an act against the voters in Washington. We voted against tearing the viaduct down and won, but they did it anyway.

What culture? If there is one thing thing that Seattle doesn't have it's culture. City is as characterless and dull as they come, and the people suck too. They have no personality and are the most unfriendly you'll find in this country. Probably has to do with their lack of religion and long history of communist activism.

seattle *could* be sooooo fucking amazing. We're a few policy choices short. In 15 years I'm optimistic it'll hit its stride again. But currently we're catering way too much to the rich, to business councils, to suburban interests, and to corporations at the expense of people who actually live here. That's not what Seattle is supposed to be. I hate that we're becoming exclusionary. I wish anyone who wanted to live in Seattle could be able to, I love this place. A lot of people love this place too, and for that reason I think we'll start making the right transit, infrastructure, and housing decisions we need to make what should be a world-class city actually reach that mark

Honestly I feel him. Seattle’s Skyline is probably the best in the country for sure. There’s no other skyline that’s gonna give you an urban downtown with an iconic landmark with mountains in the background, water in the forefront and sides with a giant volcano in the distance. On a clear day it can’t be beat. And as a whole it’s pretty safe. Yeah downtown has some drug and homeless issues and Aurora is rough in some parts, but overall it’s probably the safest major city in the US that I can think of. Only city that has Seattle beat in looks is Vancouver BC because the mountains are closer and there’s more density…but that’s Canada lol.

As a millenial in my early 30's now and someone who grew up in Seattle (yes, inside the city limits), and has lived in the city or the surrounding metro for all but 4 years of my life... I can say without a doubt Seattle has changed a lot and greatly deteriorated just within my lifetime. It was a great town growing up, maybe even the best major city in America to live for awhile... But around 2010 or so it began a downward spiral that coincided with a population boom and now has rampant issues with homelessness, drug use, & crime. Sure, it looks nice from the drone shots. But down at street level it's a whole different story. The city set a new record for murders and overdoses in 2023. Look at the data, the numbers just keep skyrocketing (as does the insane cost of living). There's still a lot of good things going for it but it's definitely not the city I grew up in anymore. At one point I planned on being here my whole life but that outlook changed VERY fast, I now intend to leave again.

The community, especially when there were games going on, turned my jaded personality around especially because I love baseball and it annoyed me how it seemed the Yankees were FL's team cause people always wore those damn hats. Marlins gave FL 2 (now 3) world series wins and its not until the Marlins became the MIAMI Marlins that people started wearing the old school caps. Folks ride or die with their team out here in Washington, even with chaos ball and hating Dipoto. I'm never going back to FL. I belong here.😆

Yes, I agree..the natural beauty of the harbor and mountains would make any skyline shine. But Seattle “builds” (ha ha) upon this beauty by offering a nice balanced architectural landscape. The skyline just keeps getting better and better each year. I did not realize how large the Seattle skyline had grown in recent years until I watched the opening scenes of TheGood Doctor; a show based on a hospital in Seattle. I thought to myself, “is this some part of New York City? Nope, Seattle! Also, I just love the design of that Space Needle. It is so rare for a tower or observation deck from so long ago to still look trendy and modern! Who was the architect? Worth knowing…so I’ll be looking that up. I loved Seattle the two summers I lived there. However I went back to Texas each time just before the winter clouds and drizzle moved in. I would go back in a heartbeat! You made a Nice video (as always)of this splendid city.

I lived there for 15 years and moved out after it became too crowded! The traffic and crime has become much worse and the housing is not affordable anymore. That and the gloomy climate with a lack of sunshine makes it a stressful unhealthy place to live.

in a few years seattle/bellevue will have the worlds first railway laid over a floating bridge (it was supposed to be open this year but the contractor fucked it up so they are gonna have to wait about 2 years until they can open it)

You got the bridges wrong. You said "evergreen point floating bridge is the longest floating bridge in the world", but you showed photos of 2 bridges: the evergreen point bridge (520 bridge), and then the I-90 bridge. the I-90 bridge is a couple miles south, and it's the second longest floating bridge in the world.
