I've just bought the 2021 Seat Leon plugin hybrid FR and I'm so looking forward to take possession of it in 9 days time.. It looks good, has tons of features and fuel economy seems to be better than I original had hoped for, if you drive accordingly of course, and when you want some fun, flick it into sports mode and 204hp is available.

Picking up my FR SportsTourer Plugin Hybrid tomorrow. This looks awesome.

SUPERB REVIEW !!!...anxiously awayting my new LEON. Ordered my ST Leon FR launch Edition mid June. Dealer told me production could be expected the 42nd week, than give it two or three weeks for deliverance ...so... that would be next week !!

What are the climate controls like? I see people complaining alot about them not being physical buttons. They seem easier to access than on the golf 8. What's it like adjusting them on the go?

I was looking at the PHEV version of the Leon, and with the price and this video, you have just sold me on the MHEV version, the power is a bit down and the economy isn't as amazing, but the features you get for the price of a base spec plug in hybrid outweigh that enough. Great video

Been watching some reviews as I am planning to go for the 150hp FR in August - I feel like you're right, other cars on the radar don't seem as nicely designed - they really did a good job on this gen of Leon.

@Scotty scotty Yes very nice but sadly l have only had this brand new car a month and because of UK lockdowns l have driven it only 3 times. l am still wondering how this Automatic high/low beam works as it senses cars headlights and then auto dips the beam, jeeee there is so many sensors on it

Probably because people don’t buy hybrids too much, they either go with ICE or BEV.

Wojciech Dyrka TDI will give you better economy. In Croatia Diesel is also cheaper than petrol. But I know that’s not the case in other countries.

@@JRCarReviews Here in Poland situation is same with prices od diesel and petrol. But there is other side of this, TDI is more expensive to buy then eTSI for around 2000€ and TDI is only available with Sportstourer. I need to do some math and think which one will be better ;)

​@@-xYz--nk1gm Normally a functional high pressure egr system on a diesel car driven outside the city does not deposit as consistently but it still deposits because it pulls unfiltered gases from the exhaust manifold and puts them into the intake A low-pressure egr system is much cleaner because it takes the gases after the catalyst and the particle filter and reintroduces them at the entrance to the cold part of the turbo, but the trouble there is that those gases have an acidity that turns into a condensate that attacks the intercooler in time as well as the egr cooler. The egr system is necessary to be able to keep down the level of nitrogen oxide emissions, the big problem with diesel.

I'm seeing alot of people complaining about the AC touch controls, basically wishing they had physical buttons. Apparently it's not great when using the AC controls while driving because of the lack of physical buttons. Although it seems like it's more accessible than the touchscreen on the golfs. What are your thoughts when using it? Also are the touch controls for temperature below the screen illuminated? Cheers.

It’s easier than Golf but as far as I remember they aren’t illuminated because of proximity infra red sensors located behind them.

hi josip, i would like to get your personal opinion what would you choose between the new golf 8, the new audi a3 sedan or hatchback doesnt matter or the new seat leon fr? in terms of handling, interior quality and driving... they all have the same 1.5 engine so the performance is almost the same, but in overall what would you choose? in my opinion audi is the most good looking car in terms of exterior design. but with a price difference of almost 15 thousands dollars from the leon in my country, i am not sure its worth it. i dont like the new golf front end, and it looks the same inside like the leon... i do like the golf has alcantara seats which seat doesnt have anymore. i also like all the ambient lighting in the golf and the audi especially in the back doors and footwell which again the leon doesnt have. the digital cockpit of seat is the most boring one... the golf changes the background of the digital display accordingly to the ambient lightings. the audi has a gps display that above all. the leon digital cockpit is all black and doesn’t shows too much colors which in my opinion is boring at night. but those are minor things. you said in the video that the leon is the best value for money which i agree, but as you drove all the cars that i am asking about what would you choose? is the golf worth the price difference? thank you very much

Are the seats comfier than the outgoing leon FR seats? I've had mine 3years, and they still don't feel broken in. I do like my 2018 Leon ST FR 2.0tsi 7dsg. So in October I'm thinking of getting The 1.5etsi Leon ST excellence lux to replace the older FR I have.

Tough choice. I prefer more space and customization in Leon, but then I love the Mazda 3 premium interior feel and there BOSE sounds system.

Except for the interior and the premium feeling, would you prefer the Mazda even for the driving-engine? I tried a Skyactive-X and a Skyactive-G but I was fairly disappointed by both of them..

Did you eventually know if the sound is serial or was it the beatsaudiotm with 9 speakers?

If money isn’t problem upgrade speakers are always better, but base ones you get in new Leon are pretty decent.

Is the option to change ambient light colour an option or comes are standard on the FR?

Well, the new SEAT costs amost the same that Golf or Octavia... And Leon doesn't have double floor in boot like Golf does. Golf seems a bit posher inside. Would you agree?

Josip Ricov I am in a period choosing. So i want the extras of Edition Octavia with 1.5 DSG which too expensive so I have to go down to Business/Ambition if I want DSG or stick with manual on Edition. OR gor for Seat with more extras and DSG woth 1.5 eTSI. So, any advice on that as an owner but also drove both of them.

Is the micro-hybridation efficient on this car ?

Every corner of the car has lightning, but the touch display for temperature and volume is not lighted. I don't get it🤣

Leon does not have the option for Matrix LED lights. Are you sure the car had DCC? Usually, it says so on the drive profile screen. Also, the wireless CarPlay should be available (Android Auto not). The ACC controls on the steering wheel are crap (i have those in my Golf) - the lever option like in Octavia is better. Launch Control in all those lower HP cars with 7-speed DSG is not available (that's because of dry clutches).

Clutch is definitely wet, dry one couldn’t handle the power.

Its the "famous" DQ200 dry clutch. Every car till 250nm in the VAG Group use it.

@@JRCarReviews Nope, it's the infamous and problematic DQ200. The only one to use dry clutches. You must be very careful with this gearbox. Try the 2.0 TDI - DSG 7 (DQ381) with oil clutches, a completely different car.

This is the FR Sport not the FR….

I guess I’m the only one who really dislikes ambient lighting in a car? My dad used to have a Saab that had night drive and when you pressed it it switched off all interior lights apart from the speedo. It was amazing how much more you could see outside. One day I hope all this ambient lighting will be a thing of the past, and stupid stupid touch screen technology, you’re not allowed to use a mobile phone or an IPad when you drive but this is ok? Double standards.

It's a shame that it doesn't come with a sunroof 😤😤😤

Those red stripes going across the entire dashboard must be so annoying especially when driving out of town in darkness.

With PS4S it can do 81km/h moose test

Why you speaking English?

Some people says that it takes 8.8s to 100kmh, some people says it's 7.8s, some other people claims same as Seat - 8.4s. What to believe? Doesn't matter, we all drive differently. Ugh... iphone shots... If you will make some money on these vieos please buy better phone to take photos... iphones are really far behind the competition.

A nice looking car, drives horrible...suspension isn't very comfy, worst ist the suspension noise. A Golf from 10 years ago was much better in that regard.
