Prolly one of the best cliffhanger ever! Is it just me? But Knots had some of the best cliffhangers ever

As a true Knot's landing fan, how could you possibly say this season was disapointing? This was one the show's best seasons.

I wish I had the money to start a classic soap channel, Primetime Soaps Knots Landing, Dallas, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, Melrose Place, 90210, and some daytime ones too Search For Tomorrow (episodes I could find), The Edge Of Night (also episodes I could find), Generations, Guiding Light, Sunset Beach, Loving, Ryan's Hope, All My Children, One Life To Live, General Hospital, Days Of Our Lives, Another World, Texas, Santa Barbara, Young and The Restless, As The World Turns, Capitol, Bold and The Beautiful, Passions, ( I know there use to be soap net) Could also run today's episodes Of The Young and The Restless, Days Of Our Lives, Bold and The Beautiful and General Hospital too at night. Make Saturday and Sunday Nights Short Lived Soaps like Savannah and others . Knots Landing is the soap that got me into soaps.

My favorite cliffhanger of Knots! I remember having endless discussions with my friends about “whodunit?” Some of us thought it was Olivia, some thought it was Abby and we tried to analyze their reactions when they were above the body. Abby wiping her hands, Olivia being mesmerized, Abby being surprised (by Olivia’s murder or by having been caught by her daughter)? Then Abby took care of Peters body and it got more and more difficult to figure out if she had done it or if she covered it up for Olivia. I think the season should have stopped an episode earlier, when Peter’s body was lying in his blood and when the mother and daughter stared at each other, not knowing what to think or do. And I was surprised when the real murderer was found out. Such a strong episode. That would have been a more powerful cliffhanger.

It was amaze balls. The way Abby had to wait until the restaurant closed for the evening, the dragging of Peter’s body and then having to dig him up again to get his car keys!!! I was breathless by the end. Soooo good.

Apparently, that WAS the original season cliffhanger, with Abby and Olivia staring at each other over Peter's dead body. But CBS asked Knots to give them one more episode that season, so the Knots writers extended the cliffhanger with the episode of Abby hiding Peter's body. That's the story that I've read, but I don't know if it's true.

@@OceanKingNY That’s interesting because i found the last scene of “Do not fold, spindle or mutilate” where Abby finds Olivia over Peter’s body very chilling. The music, the looks on their faces, the build up and the total confusion about what could have happened was captivating. It was so unusual for a soap to present such a disconcerting cliffhanger. The next episode totally ignored the “whodunnit” aspect of the plot and focused on just how Abby could cover up Peter’s death, only implying that she was the killer or that she was covering up for Olivia. But it was a genius idea to have the mother and daughter not to discuss the murder and create such a massive misunderstanding. The only little trouble was Page’s rather detached reaction when we saw her in the last episode of the season: she didn’t seem too bothered by the disappearance of Peter’s body when it was revealed that she knew she killed him by accident. Maybe it would have been more credible if she had pushed Peter and had left without seeing him falling…

the release of seasons on dvd are based on the sales of previous seasons. Sales for KL season 1 were flat, and that's why it took awhile for season 2 to be released. Apparently, s2 sales were pretty flat as well that's why we have yet to see season 3. I know ioffer.com sometimes has these season s for sale, but they are usually vhs to dvd transfers

This was such a good show. I think part of the secret to its success was it was able to evolve through the years and each iteration was successful for the most part throughout the run.

And the characters were based in reality. Even Abby had her limits, which made her human.

By this moment people were watching Knots landing and taping Dallas.Lol..

I loved Abby and Olivia and how they protected each other thinking the other killed him. I hated it later when the writers had Olivia turn on her.

+LBF522 Actually, the writers planted these seeds of mother-daughter conflict much earlier. As far back as late 1983, Olivia noticed that her mother seemed to get pleasure out of needling her Aunt Karen (this was around the time that Karen and Diana were having their mother-daughter spat and Diana was staying with Abby), and she "ran away" from home because of it. Then, when she inadvertently learned that Abby knew about Val's babies being kidnapped and said nothing, Olivia blackmailed her mother into letting her stay at Mack and Karen's. Of course, they two had major conflict over Olivia's drug use. Other than when Olivia was a much younger girl, she and Abby were often in conflict.

LBF522 Knots is my all-time favorite TV show. I had taped the episodes to VCR when they were shown in syndication years ago, and am in the process of transferring to DVD. I am up to the ninth season now. So many episodes! But one thing about Knots and (most) of its storylines -- they are entertaining!

I think they were the best when at odds. The episode's where Olivia was addicted to drugs was Emmy worthy

Can't entire episodes be posted on youtube? There are so many other old tv series like Fame and Melrose Place, why not this one? I'd love to see the seasons that I missed.

The last great season of the show. The following season, Laura dies, Ben is gone, and Jill goes off her rocker.

My 2nd favorite cliffhanger on Knots!

I hope Donna Mills comes back to the New Dallas!

I remember watching this when I was a kid , and me, my brother and my parents couldn't wait to tune in . this was really really good . this is the soap that got me into watching soaps . my favorite Primetime soap is Knots Landing and my favorite daytime is The Edge Of Night

Loved Peter, this was one of the best seasons. I'll always remember the end of this episode with Abby's face and the ominous music ... perfect.

I never liked ben at all. I felt like thw writers only wrote him for Val and that's it. Maybe if they wrote him for like a season and then paired him with Val then i would feel different about him

+MrCraigblaze I was never a Ben fan. I didn't think he and Val were that great a couple either. However, the storyline they gave him in that eighth season was beyond ridiculous. I don't know if Doug Sheehan (the actor) quit or was let go, but if I had had to act out that story, I would have quit!

Lecuyer Dooley By the end of the 1986-87 season I was the main point was to save money .. by cutting down on the cast.That means Ben .Laura Peter Lillie mae .Maybe Jean Hackney and him fell in love down in Paraguay..maybe.XD

MrCraigblaze They could have found a better way to send Ben off ... like maybe have Cathy show up and finally whisk him away as her tour manager. They milked Laura's and Peter's exits for all their worth and even found a fitting way for Lillie Mae to exit, but not Ben.

Lecuyer Dooley Well Ben was only supposed to be on the show. For a limited time only..To counter balance Abby and Gary..And When They broke them up There was no need for Ben..Until Jill haunted Val with his voice in the next season.
