Quick answer is yes. Ice fishing the shiver minnow is great for calling in active walleyes. Also side of the boat fishing tight structure such as boulders or edge of sharp break line. Usually we are cover water but if you find fish holding on structure vertical jigging will put the bait right in their face. kzread.info/dash/bejne/dpqbl5NplazeZs4.html

So they are trying to find 70 degree temp. Working the water that being pushed into bay by the winds. ( East winds, Thunder bay. ) Going to be guessing late June/July time frame.
