I use bib overalls for work, and I personally love them!! I definitely am an overall person!! My pair is Liberty, I got them a Tractor Supply for about $40. But they fit me great!!!

I sew overalls, everyday lol. I know I know it’s a strange addiction. Anyways, this video helps me sooooo much to improve my overall pattern!! On the small button clamp I buy overalls at thrift stores to see the pockets or see how they are made. But the main reason I thrift is to get the hardware of of them bc older overalls have large button clamps. Thsnks for the video!

I have a pair of those Red Kaps and you are 100% right with your evaluation. I won't buy another one of them. My favorite brand is Big Smith. And I got a pair of Berne, they're brown with zipper legs to the knee. Very handy and comfortable.

I'm a fairly recent convert to overalls for work. I can't stand having a belt cut into me when I'm doing bendy crouchy work, but I can't keep pants up without one. Even suspenders, they'll ride down, stretch the elastic, and just wind up with a bunch of weight on my shoulders for nothing. When I knew I had a bunch old tree work to do, I bought a set of overalls, and man am I sold. Mine are Big Smith Hickory Stripe. (That fabric is lighter and softer than denim or duck.) The pockets are roomy and well laid out. My only caveat is I might have ordered up a size, as they seem to be shrinking in the wash.

liberty overalls are the only brand i wear, i think they run about $40 a pair at walmart, im in overalls every day at work in the summer, leave a pair of shorts underneath at the end of a hot day take em off and your nice and cool for the ride home

Ohhh...I wish they sold them at Walmart in my area...I can only get them online. If I am ever in the Oklahoma area, I am going to stop and buy me a few pair...they have come highly recommended!

Tractor Supply always carries Liberty. They work year round and are alot easier in the heat than Carhartt.

I have a pair of liberty made from duck canvas. I like them...they ARE a bit pricey. I have been wearing dickies made from duck canvas...thinner than the liberty brand, but I am liking them and they are a bit more economical.

yeah man, overalls great; got on some Powerhouse brand from the 50s fit great and comfortable to work in for hours

I’ve never owned a pie of carhartts. They’re pretty expensive...I might get a pair someday.

I work on the railway, in the summer I usually rock work pants but in the fall, winter to spring I wear overalls. The key ones I personally don’t mind, I have carhartt duck ones which are ok, their denim ones are good too but for some reason if you pull the fly up a little high, good luck getting that sucker back down. I had to douse my fly with WD-40 and yank on em with pliers and broke the zipper, but got it back down. I got a pair of liberty denims and I find the fit kinda funny like they ride up a bit, I have that exact same pair of redkaps and I don’t mind them but I hear what you’re saying with the fasteners, it’s a bit of a pet peeve of mine as well and the buttons I can agree with. Quite frankly I find Dickie’s is the way to go for overalls, their price point is acceptable for the quality. But, just my experience. I have denim Dickie’s and duck Dickie’s and they both perform to my expectations without any complaints. I’m gonna look into giving Berne a try this fall as I’ve heard good things about them but haven’t tried them yet

Then I got Duluth Trading - the straps also don't work. The buckles slip. So now I also got a pair of Carhartts. So I'll have two pair of overalls. It's all I wear.

You might look at roundhouse bib overall company they are made in Shawnee Oklahoma the denim is made in America that's an option for you and they are reasonably cheap

I used to wear big Smith but you can't find big Smith anymore that's why I'm going with roundhouse bib overalls they make the denim they make the striped and they also make the duck and it is 100% made in the USA and they've also been in business for 117 years now that is my favorite part

I have heard a lot of good things about roundhouse! They are unavailable in wet Kentucky unless ordering online and that adds a bit of expense! They are sold everywhere in Oklahoma and when I pass through, I will be getting a few pair!

Hi there, I was wondering if you have ever checked out the Carhartt Rugged Flex Rigby ones? I think you would like the design. Funny story for you but in the 1970's, about 1972, it was very popular for girls to wear overalls all the time. We wore them to school, to the mall, where ever we went and I lived in the city! I loved them because they really were comfy and lasted a long time. It was the style of the time! Wore them with moccasins if you can believe that.

Carhart are usually pretty expensive and I have been told that the added expense isn't worth it. I just bought a pair of Liberty to try today. Maybe they will be better! I bet that was fun...Ruia has tried wearing some, but I guess she doesn't like them all that much...she doesn't keep wearing them even though I told her I like the way she looks in them!

@@CopperheadRoadHomestead I wasn't sure about the price or if they hold up better and longer but I thought you would like the pockets and bib area pretty well. Funny about Rula not caring for them, they really aren't well designed if a woman is in a hurry to go to the bathroom that is for sure.

I LOVE overalls too. I wear them for work and / or casual. I'm 65 and been wearing them most of my life. Sometimes I get the farmer comments but it doesn't bother me at all. I'm the type guy that couldn't care less about what anyone thinks about my attire. What's wrong with being a farmer anyway? lol I've tried Liberty, Dickies and carhartt. I keep going back to Liberty. Dickies galluses ( straps as some people call them ) are waaay too short causing them to ride up my crotch. Carhartt denim overalls are just plain over rated. I would have loved to try the rural king brand especially for the price. Too bad they quit making them. Oh and by the way.... you have to watch the sizing of the Liberty's. In pants or jeans I wear a 40 x 34. In Liberty overalls I wear a 42 x 30. I'm 6' 2" and 240 lbs. Take care!

@@VirantRoss The Dickies duck canvas I just bought are pretty forgiving and comfortable from the get-go. The Liberty duck canvas I bought are a little stiff, but they have gotten better after a few washes. Dickies are less expensive. Try them first.

I've been wearing and enjoying dickies duck bibs. That is all you will see me wear in my more recent videos.

As a colored man everybody always look at me funny cause I go to funerals weddings downtown or ,,, what every. With bibs on. When I die,, put in the ground with them on me.

Wear what’s comfortable to you. My dad always wore bibs a lot, to me it’s common for farmers to wear them.. lol Daniel, have u checked eBay? Sorry, I didn’t make the picnic today. I wear only overalls, don't have anything else. Wear them everywhere even church, with a collar shirt. - weddings ,Funerals ect. Even got whole family's showed up for church with them on. So I wear them everywhere. Going tomorrow to find a suit jacket. Hopefully clawhammer jacket for going to sunday going to meeting. 😁 I have try most kinds, please keep u the great work. Have ur children read a lot. Also write story's. U will give them something to go with the farming skills, others don't want have. A Leg Up. Will God's favor. Hitch them up and hit the field. HEE HAW!!!

I get dickies from the army navy store.. but my wife found carharts the other day there for 25 bucks a pair.. so she bought me all 3 pairs .. they came from a plumbing company that use them as a work uniforms and had never been worn.. they removed the company patch that was sewn on.. but I cant find where it was located.. I like the way all denim suspenders look better.. but the front elastic suspenders of the carharts feel better

Carharts are expensive overalls. I might get a pair eventually...I have been enjoying the duck bibs from dickies recently. Not too expensive and fairly comfortable.

You can buy replacement bib buttons. I needed to do that, and moved them closer together, maybe an inch in with each. They hold much better now.

Have you ever tried liberty overalls? I’ve been wearing those for years and they’re very comfortable and last about a year. They go for about 30 dollars on eBay. I love wearing overalls and wear them every chance I get.

Kids overalls are pretty expensive. We do most of our shopping for the kids at thrift stores and they don't usually have kids overalls. They would all love to have a pair, but they grow out of them so quickly. Ha! Who needs a reason to get a job at an amusement park!?

Hello Copperhead Road Homestead! Have you thought of going on eBay, Poshmark or Etsy to shop for overalls? My favorite brand is OshKosh and I got all of mine of that brand off of eBay and one pair off of Poshmark. They stopped making OshKosh adult clothing in 1996 so you can't find them off of a website like Amazon. They usually are on sale all the time, OshKosh I mean, even though some of them can be a tad on the expensive side. I find them to be extremely comfortable. Yeah, I think I agree with you on the Key overalls. They are kind of stiff and I think they are kind of tight in the crotch. At least the blue denim Key feel that way compared with the hickory striped ones. I found Craftsmen to be awfully stiff as well. Dickies fit alright but my blue denim ones seem to have very small pockets in the pant leg compared with the hickory striped ones which don't seem to be a problem. I don't know why that is. The reason why I like to wear them is that they are extremely durable, I don't have to worry about weight problems like keeping my pants up, there's extra pockets and they are comfortable. I started wearing them everyday starting in about 2018 or so. Hope that helps and thanks for sharing!

To Copperhead Homestead, they do not make overalls , like they were manufactured in the United States. The foreign made overalls, are not of the best quality, period !!! My father wore American made ,Osh Kosh overalls, they were made well, for americans by americans, not foreign manufactured products you receive, now shipped to our country. This is why they do not fit the white or black man correctly, like the US made ones !!! They were made on our forms and designs !!! I have that trouble too, with fit and finish. They need to return all of our american clothiers brand, back to the old USA forms and designs, not on China forms and their designs. Why ? BECAUSE !!! THEY DO NOT FIT CORRECTLY !!! for the american people. If the companies, are going to outsource our american company clothing to other countries please, manufacture the clothing to fit right !!! For our american men and women, like they were made in the 1950's and 1960's. Wish you luck in finding a good pair of overalls or correctly fitting Jean's nowadays !!! Kevin Phoenix
