We are taking you along high into the mountains to look for shed antlers! Every spring shed antler hunting is one of our favorite past times. We are so excited to finally have our mules ready and trustworthy for the backcountry!
Today we are headed to some new country in search of where the bull elk dropped their antlers. With slick mud and snow its a little treacherous but we still have fun and manage to find some antlers!
As always thank you for watching!
God Bless!

    Great video! It was almost like being there. You know, the smell of the sage, the feel of a great saddle, the creak of the leather, the dogs having fun…Oh, who am I kidding, being there is much better than the video! 🤠 I laughed out loud when you called Squirrel a chunk and when he and Yeti rolled in the snow. Awesome day guys, thank you for sharing!

    I like the simplicity of your videos. I’m a mule man from Northern Idaho and spend most of my pack trips in the Bob. I have 4 of them. I love riding in Idaho but haven’t ridden much in the south part of the state because of lack of knowledge. I’ve been in the Frank and Sawtooths. I would love to discuss rides in south part with you guys.

    Oh that’s awesome! Thank you for watching and for taking time to leave a comment 😊 We mostly ride around the Sawtooths, and central idaho ourselves, but we used to live in Swan Valley, so we did a little riding down there too. I wish it was easier to send a private message on here… you don’t have instagram do you? We’re Mountain_Built_Mules on there and we’d love to chat with you 😊 Thanks again for watching and for the kind words!

    The mule with markings on his legs is unique. Is there a history regarding the markings? Reminds me of some of the older breeds in Europe that I saw in a documentary. Have you done a dna on him?

    They are awesome! The focus adjustment is pretty fine and they don’t do as well as the Swarovski’s in low light (which we expected 🙂) but man, you don’t need a tripod, and I’ve glassed elk way far off while the passenger going 60 mph down the highway haha! They do great on battery life too!

    Beautiful video. Wanted to ask about the saddles, are these "mule" saddles or do you find normal horse saddles fit fine? Thanks so much ❤

  • @MTN_BUILT

    @MTN_BUILT

    2 ай бұрын

    Thank you! That was a super fun day 😊 The saddle on the white mule is a regular horse saddle and the one on the dun mule is a saddle with mule bars, specifically. Both saddles work good enough, but next time we buy a saddle, we’ll probably take the mule in to a saddle shop and have a tree matched specifically to their back. Fitting saddles to mules is tough!

    You need to use a britchen instead of a crupper, safer and more comfortable for your mule in the steep country. It’s sucks to put down a mule with a broken tail.

  • @MTN_BUILT

    What do you do with the sheds? Sell them or use them for a project. I have a few that my husband found while surveying on a job in the mts. I use to put them out for the squirrels 🐿️ to gnaw on and boy did they.
