    Being part of Karamat and being Mors "Campy" for lack of a better job description, I have been very fortunate to be able to sit in and listen to Mors speak for a very long time and on all subjects. This is the Mors I have come to know over the years. I have to say that he is and has always been at his best in front of a class. The fact that I have seen him in action many times and that I can still say I learned something new is a testament to his knowledge and also his sense of humor. We need to thank the Search and Rescue, Alberta for allowing us to tape this wonderful and insightful talk from Mors. Also, a big thanks to Jonathan Mc, the guy who arranged this.

    No Questions??? Geez, if I was there, I'd be asking so many damn questions, they'd have to ask me for some "break time". I'm glad there were at least a few at the end. LOL!!!!! I'm sixty-one years old, an outdoorsman, retired soldier, and graduate of at least a few survival courses; and every time I listen to Mors, I still learn something new. I wish I knew where to get a few of those scarves with the sewn-in mosquito netting!!! Thank you Mors, and thank you Karamat for continuing the passion. Knowledge is Life!!!

    I thought the same thing. I wish we would have had more of this type of training in the 82nd Airborne, perhaps some Units did. I too wonder where that scarf comes from. I couldn’t find anything close to it. Must be a custom made item.

    It's a real pleasure to listen in, thank you. Mors continues to use his years of experience to provide a philosophy and practice of wilderness survival that I find not only refreshing but necessary in this day of so many options and opinions. If I still had my grandfather around to discuss Bushcraft now that I understand it and appreciate it, I think it would be a lot like being with Mors. So I watch with great fondness, an open mind, and wishing this office chair were a log in the woods...anywhere! I would like to encourage Mors in the sense that even while a captive audience may or may not value his lifetime of acquired knowledge, the posting of such knowledge on KZread has the potential to influence generations of outdoor enthusiasts. Also, I just realized I've been missing an adequate cook pot the last few times I've camped with other people; I just ordered the Mors Camp Pot from Four Dog Stove! That's KZread for you!

    Fold your Mylar as well as possible, put into a large zip lock bag, unsealed. Sit on the zip lock bag, on a soft surface. Seal before unsitting. Maybe not as small as the original package, but you can get it significantly more compact, no fancy vacuum packing machine needed.

    An audience (students or whatever) not taking notes is most probably not consuming the information shared. Too bad if it happened here. I fully understand Mr Kochanskis comment on the audience not taking notes. He is very gentle about it, but it is annoying to share important information when people does not make an outer extra effort to collect and consume. They think the do collect and consume by just listening, but that is like saying that seeing is equal to observing. One can very well see or hear, but not observe and if you not observe you will probably not remembering what you actually physically must have seen or heard. My experience is also that people - certainly including myself - do remember more of what is said when activating the part or parts of the brain that works when you do hand writing of ANY kind while listening (I do believe this is a scientific fact).

    what did you use to blacken the pot? carbonization? and does the process insulate it significantly?

  • @joellenmccord73

    @joellenmccord73

    7 жыл бұрын

    0Plants0 mors' pot is anodized, which is part of the manufacturing process. carbonization will work but be kinda messy to travel with, over time even the shiniest stainless will darken and not rub off, when used over a fire, I don't know what the process is called, but I've had pans that did it. the darkening also tended to become nonstick as well, but it did take several uses to build up.
