This is my all time favorite song, which I love the story behind its composition by our Queen Kapiʻolani to our King Kalākaua. I love Dennis Pavaoʻs rendition as well.

My mom use to have most of his albums. It was nice to hear someone so nostalgic.

I have heard other expressions of this song, but this one...this one touches me like no other. The depth of love expressed by the composer of the song for her beloved and the unassuaged tenderness of her longing for him at his passing while away from her is all embodied in the gentleness of Sean’s singing.

Always in deep emotions with running tears in listening to a deep mele like this, well executed and beautifully sung.

One of my old favorites Mele's also...

Such depth of love has not been shown by many composers and performers. To sit here listening to this in tears of sadness for the love of another and the love lost from death of a beloved can not be very well expressed in such depth by many.
