This is a really good interview. One of the very best I have seen. Too bad it wasn't included in the US version. I love hearing Sean talk about building his characters. He is very thoughtful about the process.

I loved this interview. I saw this movie on DVD but I think you found interviews which are MUCH longer than "Behind the Scenes" - you posted several minutes which I didn't see on the DVD - but I got the American release, maybe you got a British DVD with more interivew on it? Colleen in California

This was a really great role and the only thing wrong with it was it being too damn brief. I coulda used another scene or two with Robert maybe getting tortured before he got hanged, or maybe leading an attack of some kind, not to alter history or anything but merely to intensify the depth and impact of his character. All in all, he was brilliant. None of his roles are in the slightest alike and it amazes me every damn time how he just transforms into these different characters. He even alters the tone of his voice and his facial expressions to fit into every role he plays. This one, Robert Aske that is, really suited him. I enjoyed the scene with him and Ray Winstone coming to terms VERY MUCH. Sean is always a delight, no matter how brief his part may be.

I love Sean bean and I know this is purely for entertainment. I love Braveheart and it infuriates me when people start bringing history into it but this is pure fiction and fantasy and it’s a betrayal of Robert Aske. He wasn’t a soldier never served in the army in his life the bloke was a lawyer and was against violence. It was a peaceful protest on his behalf unfortunately some of the ring leaders who ran with him thought violence was the only way forward.

Yes out here in Phoenix, Arizona I don't think the young, mostly white, middle class suburbia students understand the passions involved. I wanted more on the Anglican Church and I am still looking. Any suggestions? Most of the students know nothing about Henry viii except that he had a number of wives and threw chicken bones over his shoulder -if they know even that much.

i always think the same thing. I think he is terribly shy and that acting gives him that chance to overcome the shyness and then when he isn't acting, he falls back on his natural shyness. I know a lot of people like this. Most do a lot of Little Theater or singing...or writing... to give them a chance to open up. Then they go back to their quiet selves.
