The hair cut has been a big challenge for me and its in the technique I'm using and my sloppiness. I really appreciate this video and all of the videos and info you share with us!!! you inspire me and make me excited about cutting hair, something I was scared I wouldn't ever master. you help me find that confidence to want to practice! I was taught this by my boss who was from London and went to Vidal Sassoon academy there, and I've been using it ever since. That was like 20 years ago. It's not hard, you just have to do it every time you pull your scissors away from the cut so you don't poke anyone. It becomes habit after awhile.🙂

I also hope if he does that he shows how to blend out the harshness at the perimeter with a standard 90-45 from the occipital down because a full 180 can look horrid on dense, coarse hair without this advanced technique switcheroo. I think Matt's a great person to demonstrate both a 180 and a 180 w/90-45 blending and hopefully to explain which is best for who and why. g

I'm not a stylist or a hairdresser or anything like that, but I do cut hair as a hobby. Started out cutting my own hair, which I still do. One of your bob tutorials helped me imensly in getting that shape and volume in the back, that I was looking for (it was all in the parting which also made it a lot easier to work especially in the back!) Now, that cut has grown out and I'm thinking of keeping the length and doing layers. I was contemplating doing basically the exact same thing you did in this video, but didn't have the guts do it as I wasn't sure how it was going to turn out. So thank you, is what I'm trying to say. Your videos are highly educational and helpful even for someone like me, cutting her own hair with a $4-5 pair of scissors in front of the bathroom mirror. 😊

Awesomely done! I would have to go way back to beauty school just to think about how I was taught, even for an old school artist like myself this was refreshing to see.

You are really good, thorough, precise and very high quality. You're teaching is thorough and not boring or repetitive. You break things down so that it's easy to follow and understand. You are a very good teacher, you don't miss anything or skip over, you are concise and thorough in your method. You keep things simple, yet you give a lot of information and very well delivered. However fyi, when you started on the right side the first couple of cuts were out of frame. If you were not consistent and through with you teaching, it would not be able to follow, but because you are good, it is easy to follow thorough and know how to do that step. You definitely know your stuff and are very good.
