Hi! Who else is listening to this in February, 2024?? I cannot believe that Seal hates this, his own song! He said that the song doesn't work; although he admitted that the producer did an amazing job. Seal, this is not only your best song, but it's one of the top 10, and it's a romantic classic that never gets old! It's been 30 years since your song's release!! It should be released for a third time; it's one of the best songs ever! ❤🎉 P. S. I know that Seal will never read this. 😔 Bummer.

@newhorizon1355 oh, I never thought that!! I couldn't make out what word he was singing until I figured out that he was a lighthouse and his woman was kissing his gray side. That's morbidly funny!! I often can't get the lyrics right and am embarrassed when I find them!!
@ChefSalad

@@MindGotScaredAndRanAway I think grey refers to the sea itself. Occasionally, in poetry, the sea at night is said to be grey. Just like, how in ancient Greece, the sea was usually called wine-colored. It can also refer to fog over the sea, which also makes sense with the rest of the lyrics. I've always thought that a kiss from a rose was a bad thing. It's like a poetic way to refer to being stabbed by a rose's thorns.
I see why people like this song. Its got a really dreamy feel to it. It almost sounds like something you’d listen to during a night of passion with your significant other.

I am still in awe of this beautiful song on January 3rd, 2024! I've seen a video of Seal being interviewed at a radio station and he sings parts of this song a capella, and no Auto-tune His voice is exactly the same as on the recording. It is rare for a professional singer-songwriter and recording artist to not need Auto-tune. He is that rare talent and it is incredible beyond belief. Fun fact: Seal strongly dislikes and is embarrassed of this song!!

There used to be a greying tower alone on the sea And you became the light on the dark side of me Love remained a drug that's the high and not the pill But did you know that when it snows My eyes become large and The light that you shine can't be seen? But did you know that when it snows My eyes become large and The light that you shine can't be seen? Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey Ooh, the more I get of you, stranger it feels, yeah Now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey I've been kissed by a rose on the grey I, I've been kissed by a rose on the grey I've (And if I should fall, will it all go away?) been kissed by a rose on the grey I, I've been kissed by a rose on the grey There is so much a man can tell you So much he can say You remain my power, my pleasure, my pain To me you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny, yeah Won't you tell me, is that healthy, baby? I remember seeing batman and the end credits came on and we just sat in the theater listening to Seal. Snacking on leftover popcorn. 😂😂😂 the 90s.
When there was more magic in the world! Ah! nostalgia, nostalgia.
This song gets better and better the more you learn about music. It's both complex and beautiful beyond belief.
This is one of the most beautiful songs ever created, regardless of how popular it is.
Something about this song is so addicting
this song is a masterpiece
One of the most beautiful songs I know. Gives me chills every time. x
This song pops up into my conscious from time and it’s a good time.
3:09-3:15 are 6 of the best seconds in all of pop music. Such an unusual choice with unique emphasis on forte staccato piano, gentle kick drum, and the gliding string section. My ears can never get enough.

Incredible masterpiece. I challenge a Millennial to create a pop song with this level of orchestral genius.
I am still listening to this song, October 30, 2019. I am surprised this song has NOT had over 50,000,000 views.

This song is a classic!
Thank you Rick for showing this gem to the world !
I love it when you say the first thing that comes to your mind and you let yourself go and be impulsive. It makes you vulnerable nd it makes me feel comfortable and trust you and open up to you. And everything you say is perfect 🌹🌹🌹
One of the best songs ever made! I was born in 1994 and I just love this song!
Great song and excellent singer!
Lyrics. Enjoy every word: There used to be a graying tower, alone on the sea You became the light on the dark side of me Love remained a drug, that's the high and not the pill But did you know that, when it snows My eyes become large and The light that you shine can be seen? Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey The more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah And now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey There is so much a man can tell you So much he can say You remain my power, my pleasure, my pain, baby To me, you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny Won't you tell me, is that healthy, baby? But did you know that, when it snows My eyes become large And the light that you shine can be seen? Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey The more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah Now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey I've been kissed by a rose on the grey I've been kissed by a rose (on the grey) I've been kissed by a rose on the grey And if I should fall along the way? I've been kissed by a rose Been kissed by a rose on the grey There is so much a man can tell you So much he can say You remain my power, my pleasure, my pain To me, you're like a growing addiction that I can't deny, yeah Won't you tell me, is that healthy, baby? But did you know that, when it snows My eyes become large And the light that you shine can be seen? Baby, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey The more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah And now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey Yes, I compare you to a kiss from a rose on the grey The more I get of you, the stranger it feels, yeah And now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey Now that your rose is in bloom A light hits the gloom on the grey

What a song. Absolute perfection in audio production
They should launch new golden records into space and they should just be this in a loop
1990s brought to me here, these times was good... I LOVE THIS TUNE, IT'S PERFECT!

Seal is the sexiest man. Inside and out. He's a beautiful human
Took nearly 30 years of improvement in audio technology and affordability to do justice to this song. It's genius without question. Back in the 90's, hearing it on my poor quality TV or radio, it sounded 95% less than what I hear now.
His voice is as smooth as butter
God Bless Bossman

The nostalgic feel, you came home from school went to your grandmas house by bycicle, see your uncle and grandpa hearing this from the radio in the living room.

Seal is amazing....this song is so powerful and strengthens my soul......
I lost my grandfather in January 2020. My wife, my mother, grandmother and nurses were saying I was crying so hard I was hyperventilating. I truly miss him every day. I never felt pain so bad until that day. Anytime I think about it I just wanna cry because as strong as man as I am mentally & physically. My Grandfather was honestly my best friend and the glue of the family. The last time my wife and I went down to Trinity where he lived to my grandma’s trailer. My wife woke me up in the middle of the night because she could hear me crying. It’s been almost 4 years and I still lose it every time I think about him.
