Great shooting with the old iron sights but much easier with some telescopic ones also they can work as a binocular for you to find ur kill.

not allowed, The USA banned all seal products a long time ago. My uncle sent up some bottled seal to his sister in Boston, and border officers took it.

I think he might hv scared them all away😂,probably shot a few people on shore as well?😂

Doesn't the hunter shoot in the air? How do you hit a seal in the water?

Hi, these seal don't sink after you shoot at them? How do you retrieve them, is there a technique, or do some of them just float?

They rarely sink in winter because they’re fatter, the blubber makes them float, in the summer time they’re much skinnier so they’re more likely to sink.

What is the brand of that plastic looking box in the bow of your boat? What is it’s primary purpose? Thanks.

The brand is called “sæplast” they make them in Iceland and the primary purpose of them are to contain fish in them, mainly for halibut.

You should get a cooper rifle in 22-250 and put a quality 32 power scope on it, also use some kind of rest

It's not easy to shoot drive a boat and film all at the same time.

Good job, thanks for a beautiful video! Seal hunting is an amazing tradition and it is good that young men like you keep it on. It must be very had to shoot accurately from the boat! I hope you don´t get many hates from greens, who know nothing about your culture or animal protection itself! Btw you wear a nice fur hat - is it from seal fur too? Or do you wear anything of seal fur or skin? I think it must be super warm and super comfortable...

@@lukasbejcek8841 not sure what my hat is made out of, I bought it from the marine store🤣 and yes animal skin clothes are expensive, most people that have them are probably made from their grandparents or so.

I wear jacket with a real fox fur trim, so I know it is pretty expensive 😃 But I love this material, much better than synthetics (although I dont need it for warmth here - it is rather for fashion, in fact 😁). But I though you must have worn seal fur, especially when you hunt seals! So, you hunt them mainly for meat, yeah? Dont you have an opportunity to have something done by your family or neighbors? Doesnt the young generation wear fur much anymore?

What caliber rifle are you using?

Orcas are very rare in Nuuk, Greenland so are polar bears. They are more common in East and South Greenland.

Well you need to know how to boat. Shoot well. Find prey. There's actually quite of bit of skill involved.

It's all skill..drive and shoot a gun on a moving boat w/cold temp..maybe on empty stomach too..MAJOR SKILLS

Dont the hunters use clubs anymore? I wanted to see a few get clubbed. They have long clubs with spikes in them and it takes talent to kill the seal with one quick blow to the noggin!

@@richardfarley7956 it’s actually the most humane way to kill seal pups, because there’s skulls haven’t fully closed yet and so the quickest way to kill them is to crack them on the skull. Also it’s quite ethical, about 80% of seal pups die due to predation from polar bears, arctic wolves, starvation, freezing, and abandonment, and by harvesting a quoted percentage of seal pups you actually increase the survival percentage of the baby seals left behind. There is no reason to restrict the baby seal harvest in America.
