I may need to invest in one of those... Thanks for the tip!
Can you pasword protect it like the WD series? what is the difference between this unit and a regular portable drive?
Just ordered the 8TB version from Amazon and I think this will be a good fit for what I need to expand the two internal 8gb HDD that I am currently using to run Plex. After I build my NAS later on this year it will be going to my daughter to boost the pathetically poor storage she has on her MSI 15M. Thanks for the Unboxing. Cheers Mate!

hello, can you kindly confirm if i can add 2 external drives to this hub , an 8tb and a 4tb is what i have, one through type A and other through usb C , id highly appreciate it. thankyou
Is this worth it over a regular hard drive? Or the hub seagate sells? If I’m not using it just for gaming?
What a wonderfully a$$tastic review.....
how high is the data transfer with the 8gb hard drive?
Is this good to store my data files like a regular Seagate Backup Plus? I have the 8TB version, but I only use it to store my movies and anime to watch on the big screen :) The highest Ive seen in seagate website on regular seagate backup plus is 14TB, but I am interested in this one because its 16 TB. Let me know your thoughts if I can use this as a regular storage device to add my film's and anime instead of gaming :)

It's way better than the old Backup Plus drives. You get a Seagate Enterprise drive with these and they are built like tanks and are way faster than the old Backup Plus ones and also have USB 3 A and C ports on the front which makes it great as a hub if you are low on ports. I've had to retire my Backup plus ones but they have served me well. Always had a better experience overall with Seagate anyway compared to WD.

Not too sure about this one as haven't tried - if the external drives are USB powered, I don't see why not because the hub part of this can power USB devices. But if those drives require their own power, then probably not (but just a guess)
Standard hdd with some chinese rgb lights
Actually thinking about buying this for my Mac. I just can't find data transfer speeds.
@MrJayclas

It’s most likely no faster than 200 MB/s because it’s a HDD in there.

Would this work on my ps5 as an extended drive to keep my ps4 games on?

Sony says USB extended storage requirements on PS5 consoles = 8 TB maximum capacity. So it might not work!
Hi is this Fire CUDA reliable enough to store & play games when I use PC?
@tech.reviews
Жыл бұрын
I have had no issues with it so far! SSD's are known to be more reliable though, no moving parts, and much quicker, but more expensive of course!
@Shadowassassin1172
Жыл бұрын
@@tech.reviews are you recommending I should get the SSD for faster loading response? Rather than this one?
@tech.reviews
Жыл бұрын
@@Shadowassassin1172 It depends what you would like to prioritise - SSD is known for speed. HDD still brilliant and can store much more, which many people prefer.
But is it good for gaming? I know that hdd is slow for gaming and ssd is faster so is this worth it?
@tech.reviews
Жыл бұрын
The main difference with SSD's is the boot time which is significantly quicker. And obviously more reliable because no spinning discs. It's just far more expensive, if you can afford it then go for it, but otherwise the HDD is still good for gaming and main noticeable difference is the boot time! Hope this helps :)

I've got a few of the 16tb Fircuda for different purposes. On PC I run my games on multiple internal SSD's but use the external 16tb Fircuda to install a large chunk of my Steam backlog on. Gaming off the drive isn't the best as they are prone to randomly crashing unless it's an indie game, even when using SSD external drives. I've even tried it with Samsung T5 SSD's but haven't had much luck with it. What I do now is just use them purely for storage and then when I want something I just transfer it over to my internal SSD and it generally only takes 5 to 10 mins compared to several hours of downloading it's well worth it.

@tech.reviews

That's horrible! I have Seagate and WD, both work well, but I found the entry level ones work a bit slower / louder and more prone to die. I use this one as well as a WD My Passport (mirrored for backup) and both work fine, the Seagate is a little quicker though.
