Seafloor Spreading
In this video, we take a look at the concept of seafloor spreading and the four major pieces of evidence that support it, with a focus on the observed alternating bands of magnetism preserved in the rock on either side of a mid-ocean ridge.

But what causes the cycles of the earths double torus magnetosphere to increase causing magma to well up every 12,000 years for a 1,000 years? Continental drift should be called continental rebound after Noah's tidal wave deluges hit up against Africa pushing the mid Atlantic ridge up and tearing the Pacific ring of fire apart. The galactic Milankovitch cycles not you or co2 causes climate trends and this the millennium of climate change END TIMES. Jesus God warned us.
I always look for your videos which are very helpful for my Earth Science class. Thank you Mr. Mike Sammartano
Thank you! This helped me more than any class I took in environmental science or geology
You make earth science interesting!
Totally appreciate your videos since 4 years
I really like the way you explain, it's not fast or slow and I can understand it carefully really appreciate you videos. I hope you inspire a lot of teachers to copy the way you teach the calmness and gentle of your voice. love your videos
Thanks for ALL your videos, Mike. I watch them often and they're very helpful and informative!
Outstanding job Mike! Thanks muchly. I really hope you're getting funding to produce your videos.
Absolutely amazing explanation ❤️❤️ . This video clarified concepts in great detail 🥰🥰 . Please make more geology/climatology/ oceanography etc. Videos 🙏🏻😊💐💐💐💐💐
This is really what I was looking for. Thank You So Much.
A GREAT overview of key concepts. This video made helped me understand. Thanks.
This is one of the best educational videos I’ve seen on KZread!
Brilliant video. That explanation wAs the best I have ever seen.Clear and easy to understand.
At the end of 13 minutes, I was thinking, is it over already? That was an awesome video. A little long to play in class, but still good, I can play parts of it. And no ads, even better.

Not sure how long your lessons are, but I reckon it's an ideal length to play in class.
A really great video explaining seafloor spreading. I teach 6th-grade special ed, and this was so much easier for my students to understand then the textbook explanation. The narration is gentle and kind, as well. Thanks so much!

I feel embarrassed, we learnt this in year 7 and now in year 9 they are teaching it again! It's good to remember general knowledge though 😆
Very nice video, many good pieces of information. However, I would argue that "supporting evidence #3" is better explained by proximity to continental masses than distance from ridges. The sediments come from erosion of areas above seawater. As you can see from the map shown, there is no consistent difference until very close to shore
This video helped me in how to explain it clearly for my science report. Thank you!
Thank you. 💐💐💐Wonderful explanation on “sea floor spreading”.
Thank you very much for this explanation, your presentation was very effective..
very pleasing to the eyes! thank u so much, its very detailed and its easy to understand!!
Thank you, this helped a lot
This was f amazing. Particularly the patterns of magnetism on the sea floor. Thanks
This helped me get a good grade on my test and highly recommended.
Thanks so much, you helped me ace my test :D
Really fascinating.Grateful.
super interesting and helpful for my studies
Such an amazing vedio with crisp explanation and animations.
NICE EXPLANATION. THANKYOU VERY MUCH!
this is so informative, really thankful!
Thank you so much, this video has been super helpful! It's much easier to understand especially with all the helpful images.

woah. this was one of the most educational video that I've understood
Wow! Great explanation!❤️
Thanks for the explanation 😊.

Very Good Explanation
Thank you!
Ur videos help my son a lot keep up the good work
Thanks for the video sir!
Thanks for explanation
just amazing! like it!
Good Explanation given!
Shout out to Marie Tharp, an absolute legend. 💪
Great explanation 👍👍keep it up 😁😁
Regarding Evidance #1: It would have been beneficial to show what "active faults" mean by layering a map of seismic activity (earthquakes) over the map of ocean ridges and seeing the correlation. Otherwise, great video! I did not know about sedimentation thickness as evidance!
Thanks a bunch!
Very good video
Thank you very much.

it was perfect, from the start to the end
Very informative
Really helpful
May you make video about histroy of plate tectonic as well... when the term of "plate" start used? Who use this term for the first time?
Thank you.
bestvideo on this topic ,, animation is best
Me: Curling my eyebrows cause I have a presentation for science Mike: Lemme help you with that
Amazing
Now I understand, Thank you
Thanks
Do you have an additional resource for this specific video (flow chart, notes sheet etc)? Great work and an awesome resource. Thank you.

Excellent video! I literally learn more with you rather than with my professors, haha
is have a question. as new oceanic crusts are formed, is there a surplus of crustal materials on the Earth's surface?
Is it known how the lateral shifts (steps) formed. At visible at 5:38.
Awasome
What does it mean by the rocks aligning to earths magnetism? Like how does that work
how do you explain the pacific ocean age on your age map of the sea spreading

i know and i love it and kinda mad cuz school teaches it as fact i never heard theory attached to plate techtonics or how rain clouds are not just formed from evaporation but also by the suns partical ionizing the atmosphere and getting worst as our magnetosphere weakens to. pisses me off i learn it through the climate change bull sniggels i could smell a mile away and not in a class room where we do go over these subject numerous times in k through12 not once did they say theory and they should have. @@tphilipp296
OCEAN RESOURCES Problems of developing ocean resources and ways to solve them Progress in the field of science and technology has made it possible to significantly expand the scope and scale of using the resources and space of the World Ocean.
I'm curious why you didn't talk about the west coast of North America and how that is all newer rock. I'm also wondering why there is no build up of sediment on the west coast if the continent is being pushed west by the seafloor spreading in the Atlantic. Shouldn't there be subduction on the west coat, which would leave sediment build up?
@James-gk8ip
Жыл бұрын
The Rockies were formed by the subduction you speak of. They are a young range, and still growing.
The magnetic bands all have the magnetic field in the same direction. We only have alternating patterns of strength and weakness in the same direction. Wouldn't electromagnetic standing waves produce the same artifacts? With the reversal theory, the magnetic poles have to reverse. Can anyone think how this is possible ?
just watching this for school
Wow
A theory that explains the magnetic changes in the Earth's crust is the core remaining as it is, but the earth flipping according to the The Dzhanibekov Effect.
@guyskillen

What? 😂
Looks like Earth is expanding

I'm fucking amazed I finally understood what reverse magnetism is and how the north and south pole works
Can't this evidence be interpreted as in favor of expanding Earth theory over orthodox plate tectonics though?
