A mid-channel turn. What all the cruise ships used to do in the 1970s because they were all pretty much the same size as this ship.

I think the difficulty is that the causeway side of the channel isn't flat. It slopes up starting about 150 feet from shore. Get a little too far north and you'll be reminded you have a bulbous bow.
