SEA TURTLES IN FLORIDA! 🌊💗🐢 Sebastian Inlet State Park

Sebastian Inlet State Park on Florida’s east coast has been on our adventure list for years! In this episode, we score an amazing waterfront camping spot at the Sebastian Inlet campground and explore the clear, warm waters of the Sebastian Inlet cove on our SUP (inflatable paddle board).
Sebastian Inlet has some of the best bird, dolphin and sea turtle viewing along the clear, beautiful waters that connects the ocean to the river. To top off this amazing adventure, we even get an extended, rare visit by a curious sea turtle. Enjoy the show!🔔 SUBSCRIBE for more adventures!

    Thanks for your video. Sebastian can be one of the most dangerous inlets in Florida. I'm glad you got it on a calm, beautiful day. That current can get swift.

    After watching about 10 of your videos, it just came to me that you guys are plant based.. LUV IT! ❤ Along with your adventures. You are supplying me with a lot of ideas for explorations with me being a cyclist, a vegan myself and a newly paddler/kayaker (not so much a camper yet) 😊! Maybe if I keep watching your vids, I may do a camping adventure! 👊👍

    Sarah and Paul, I just wanted to tell you I love your videos you two are great together and based on your stay in Silver Springs I'm actually going there in a couple weeks. I know you said you're headed to Fort clinch that is an amazing place. I was there 3 weeks ago. Anyway I'm hitting a lot of the Florida state parks myself so hopefully we'll meet up one day in a Florida State Park. I'm currently in Nashville Tennessee, heading tomorrow to Rickwood Caverns State Park in warrior Alabama. I'm back in FL by the end of the week. Be hitting Hillsborough River Silver SP, Springs and a couple others. On my way back to Ft Myers. I am a solo camper in my Travato having a great time trying to tour the country. Anyway, keep up the good work, and keep smiling again, you two are great together. Best wishes and happy camping!

    I live near Sebastian. There is another campground near Sebastian Inlet if that campground is full. It is Long Point Park Campground which is on the river side. Most of the camp sites are on the water and Long Point Park is a state park campground too. FYI. Sebastian Inlet is the Bull Shark capital of the world where they come into the river to give birth to their pups. Jeremy Wade did a TV show about the Bull Sharks in the inlet where you are. Be careful 🦈

    Welcome to the area and to our channel! We love adventuring in Florida so we hope you find our videos helpful. We absolutely love Sebastian Inlet. Pretty sure you could launch from the cove where we were swimming/paddling, but it would be more difficult to get the kayak to the water and also to navigate the inlet with the heavy boat traffic. Your best bet would be to launch from the boat ramp area on the riverside, which is located on the south side of the park. When you're in the park, you would drive past the campground to the boat launch. There's lots of easy access to the water there, and also convenient bathrooms. Happy adventuring to you! 😄

    Two things they will not tell you. 1. The land was donated with the condition that Indian River county residents would never have to pay. As governments do, they told us to pack sand. The family took the state to court to get the land back due to breach of contract and lost ergo, we lost. 2. The sand trap only collects sand west of the bridge. When dredging is needed the trap is pumped out. I did volume comps of sand for a decade.

    What type of board do you have? Does it hold air well?

    Hey there! Thanks for asking. We ended up going with the ROC inflatable paddle board years ago and we've been happy with it. We bought it off of Amazon, so here's an easy link for you with all the different sizes and color variations: amzn.to/3BNxPwo We went with their 10' board to make sure it could hold both of us on there solidly. We love it and have never had a problem with it. Hope that helps! Happy adventuring! Oh, and in case you're interested, we also have a page on our website devoted to all of our favorite gear: psadventures.net/gear/ 😄✌️

    Is the camper a rental? Can You recommend a place to rent one? Going back to Florida in december and got inspired by your videos

    Hi! This is our tiny home on wheels! We're based in Florida, so we currently travel mostly across the state. We previously rented a camper van in Florida through the RV Share website and it was a great experience. Funny thing is that we rented one last year to see if we really liked it enough to buy one, and we ended up buying the exact van that we rented! In case you're interested, this was our rental experience: kzread.info/dash/bejne/h5Wc0MyddJrHhqw.html. And if you want the whole story on our purchase of this van, here's our full van story: kzread.info/dash/bejne/kXhhs9J7qsetiqg.html. It's so exciting that you're considering experiencing this lifestyle on your next Florida visit. We wish you an exciting and wonderful adventure! 😄❤️

    I have seen several huge turtles lately near where I live and I have no idea how they have gotten here! This is one of my very favorite of all of your adventures! This is definitely now on my bucket list of places I must go! Watching your wonderful simple pasta dish it made me think of two of my favorite recipes: I make cannellini bean pasta regularly with the beans, onion, carrot, zucchini, yellow squash, shiitake mushrooms, parsley, garlic, salt & pepper - delicious! Another favorite recipe is a 'gentle shepherd's pie", a lentil and potato pie with vegan butter and almond milk for the potatoes with lots of cinnamon and black pepper along with bay leaves and garlic in the boiled lentils. It is beyond delicious! (:

    Hi Freeman! Hope you are doing well! We're so happy you loved this adventure. Sebastian Inlet is quite beautiful, and the water must be even more clear when it's not so windy. Reading about your favorite recipes makes us hungry! Sounds delicious. We're big fans of shepherd's pie, although not sure we've ever made it. We'll have to try it out! 💗

    My stompin grounds. Love y'all's channel, but gotta ask, why don't y'all eat any meat? Meat is great protein for everything y'all do. Keep up great videos!

    Thanks so much for the question Keith! We actually haven't eaten meat in maybe 18 or so years. Mostly it makes us just feel better eating more whole foods plant-based like the people in the Blue Zones eat. We still on occasion have a tiny bit of fish which we think is fine. Everyone can eat whatever makes them feel the best and we're not saying it's the best for everyone. Of course after an adventure we still love things like pizza, ice cream, and fries but try to have a little healthier versions of the same thing. Whatever we eat has to taste good though and we love to cook most things ourselves! 🍕🍔🍨

    I live right near there but was never able to enjoy it because I am aware of all the people who died or lost limbs to infection with antibiotic resistant flesh eating bacteria that is often in the water at hazardous levels. Locals who know, time their visit to the incoming tide because the river is so heavily polluted. To avoid scaring off tourists, there are no warning signs. If you ask about vibrio at the hospital, they can tell you all about it.

    😱 That's sounds a little scary! After Googling it looks like there are a handful of people in Florida that have died from that in a year which is still pretty rare but definitely something to be wary of. Thanks for sharing!

    Solar for an air conditioner maybe?

  • @PSAdventures

    @PSAdventures

    11 ай бұрын

    That would be a cool idea but after looking into it air conditioners take a TON of power to run. There are some good off-grid companies though that are working on some lower power 12 volt options though. We've seen some vans with tons of solar on top which definitely would help!

    Is there any camping in or around Sarasota ?

  • @PSAdventures

    @PSAdventures

    11 ай бұрын

    Thanks for the question Dana! Probably your best bet would be Myakka River State Park near Sarasota. There are some other smaller campgrounds but they're harder to get into. Myakka has a TON of alligators! We saw some big ones one a trip when we stopped to look at them on a bridge. We definitely wouldn't be paddleboarding there! 😮🐊
