Me and dad went out before work to see if any early spring sea run brook trout were moving along in the Salt water of Newfoundland! Was a deadly day, don’t forget to like and subscribe!

Nice trout there! You ever try cleaning them with a good pair of scissors? Head off first then up through the middle, give it a try you might like it. Wish I had a father to go fishing with, cherish every moment bud Oh Im from the other side of that bay..CB

Would sure make things personal to us transplanted Newfoundlanders, if you were to tell us what body of water are you fishing in and what town was across the bay. That's one thing I've noticed about all you guys that have outdoor channels back home, you never let us guys know where you're fishing or hunting. Maybe that's one thing you didn't think was really important to make mention of, but to us guys that's been up on the mainland for decades, it's a small thing to ask so that we can have a true connection to back home. BTW.....nice fish!!!!

We don’t say because , you might not take advantage , but a lot do ! Too much poaching now , & people inviting people , who invite people , who invite people !! I’m all for sharing & helping others catch fish , but sometimes it’s just not worth it , & that’s a sad reality !

Will, if that's the case, I have no reason to subscribe to you or anyone else back home. Too bad. Newfoundland is for all Newfoundlanders not just a chosen few.

@@MrBotwood if that’s how you feel , I respect it ! But I’ve seen it firsthand, especially from my videos, people see where I am, and the next time I go there, there’s not even room for me to fish ! It’s a sad reality of it . I’m not saying you are a poacher, or that you disrespect the sport or resource, but what I am saying is that there are too many people that do disrespect it , & poach , and they’ve ruined the sharing aspect. Do you at least understand where I’m coming from?

Yes, I totally get your point....and it's a very good point. Too bad there are those who make it bad for everyone. However that being said....what's the real harm in saying which bay you're in? You're catching sea trout....they swim. Just because you catch them today, doesn't mean they'll be back tomorrow. That one your father caught could have been trying to make it to Botwood for all you know! Lol. Now I'm all for not disclosing the location of your cabin or the seasonal tent you want to keep up throughout the year, but saying what bay you're in or the name of the town? That has no bearing on stopping people poaching since it's salt water and as I said before fish swim. A freshwater pond is way different! I totally agree with keeping it hush. But saltwater? I don't agree. However you'll never understand my point though. I'm 62. Will I ever be back home, I doubt it. I came up here for work and couldn't get back. So all I have are memories of when I was younger than you and fishing for sea trout with my father...you may understand one day when your father, like mine is gone too. It's crazy, but just a sound or a smell or the look a certain pond has, will trigger memories of Dad and myself fishing off a rock or at some brook we found walking over 4 bogs! Those memories are the only thing I have now of how it was....you won't know what I mean until you get in your life where I am now. So I'd like to apologize to you. Where you were was a lot like a place I remembered and I guess the memory shook me. You take care. I appreciate what you said, it's obvious you're a good steward of the land, and you've been reared the right way. I will subscribe and follow your Journey.
