Sea Monsters - Search for the 6 gill shark - Totally Awesome Fishing Show

Спорт

Sea Monsters !!!! Graeme Pullen's search to catch the first Giant Sixgill shark from the shore. Brand new and exclusive to The TOTALLY AWESOME FISHING SHOW .A single lost fish while filming the T/A Thornback Rays film kept gnawing away in his mind as he never even got to turn the reel on that creature. That loss was witnessed by professional shore guide Paul Harris,so Graeme set up a return trip,but this time it meant driving over 1000 miles to get exclusive film interviews with two charter boat skippers that has both caught this awesome deep water predator.Graeme also gets some exclusive footage from Phil Williams to show KZread viewers just how enormous the Sixgill shark can grow.....with action of an incredible 900-pounder !!! He then revisited the exact same spot where he had his first encounter,but this time thought he was well prepared with his best marlin standup tackle.....AND HE STILL GOT SMASHED OUT OF SIGHT !! So what exactly is coming in close to shore at night following the discards from the deep-water trawlers. This is probably the most informative work on this species ever put up on KZread and represents days of work put in by Graeme.It makes Totally Awesome viewing !!

    I'm not into fishing. I caught a 950lb Blue Marlin really close to Funchal harbour on my honeymoon, but I only went out on the boat to get away from my new wife. Didn't know what I was doing. After an hour and a half I looked at it over the side of the boat. The fish was huge. They measured it -to get the weight- and tagged it and it sunk down deep. I don't know if it was alive or dead. But I'm getting distracted...divorce loomed, thankfully, and fishing never came into my life again. Graeme seems like an ace guy. I watch the videos and it makes me happy. More power to him. It's much appreciated.

    Awesome work, Graeme. This expedition is exactly the kind of adventure every fisherman lives for. You put in the research and did something no one else has even attempted. That scene of you fishing for 1000+ lb sharks from a dock with the city lights in the background is just incredible. After coming so close I hope you give it another try in the future, but I'd call that trip a success by any definition. If this video doesn't make everyone want to grab their heavy tackle and head for the water, then there's something wrong with them.

Totally exciting, edge of the seat stuff Graeme.....cant wait for your next 6 gill shore encounter video.. What exactly would be the criteria for claiming the UK shore caught species record, would you have to beach one to photograph and measure one, then keep or release it, how would one go about that ? Rob Kelowna BC Canada .

  • @TAFishing

    @TAFishing

    10 жыл бұрын

    I guess the British requirements are kill it, weigh it on certified scales,with two independent witnesses.Pretty archaic stuff .I'd like to get it on the beach, measure it, film it and release it. I'm not really bothered about the actual record,I'd just like to be the first to land one from the shore. For me the filming is far more important ,maybe it could be weighed quickly on the commercial fish scales then returned ? Got to stay attached to one first !

    Could you guys give me some tips for keeping crabs of my bait when I'm fishing for bass, flatfish and dogfish from the beach over rough ground please. All me and my dad seem to catch are crabs and the odd dab. We usually use rag worms as bait, so would a different or bigger bait work maybe?

  • @MrNinted

    @MrNinted

    8 жыл бұрын

    Hi Andrew- This can be a problem. Sometimes using half a black frozen lug worm can keep the crabs off but still give a good chance of fish. Another way is to put a thawed black lug on a baiting needle half way, fold it onto itself and whip the two halves together with bait elastic before sliding onto the hook. This makes the bait tougher and it lasts longer. Hope this helps!

    I wonder could it have been a seal rather than a shark that you hooked into at Beara peninsula. I think it was too shallow for a huge shark to be in that 4 or so metre deep harbour area. Also, earlier in the video one of your experts you interviewed said six gills don’t wrap themselves up the line. And, anyway, doesn’t a shark need to be in deep water to wrap almost 20 feet or more of line around it? Can sharks wrap horizontally themselves up 20 feet of line in a 4 or so metre deep water harbour? I don’t buy it. I think you were fighting a seal and the frayed line was caused by it wrapping the line around a rock. Anyway, fantastic video, really enjoyed it, love watching your show. You are the best fishing show on KZread!

    The seal would have surfaced a few times or jumped out of the water. Its happened to me before

    Itz Dr Chase, interesting. I think he was fishing at night time though so wouldn’t have seen it if it was jumping. Do you think Graeme hooked into a six gill or seal? What are your thoughts?
