Way of explaining makes it much harder to understand. Core of explanation mostly expressed in spanish words. Still have to understand ( look up) the spanish words she uses to explain.. Waste of time.

@@ditokami3095 As I said to you in response to another comment, this is a channel for intermediate to advanced level Spanish speakers. We already understand the words she's using because she's using words at our level, which is helped even more by her clear speech and moderate pace. As intermediate to advanced Spanish speakers, we both want and need this in Spanish. Look at all the other comments. No one else is complaining because everyone else understands the point of this video and of the channel in general. If you can't understand this video, then obviously your Spanish isn't as good as you think it is.

So it's like the passive voice, but with the indirect object pronoun stuck in the middle. Generally in the preterite tense because accidents are usually spoken about after they are finished happening. Or or something like that :-). I'm starting to get the feel of these constructions, finally.

A mi esposo se le ensució el pantalón cuando fuimos a comer la comida india y a uno de nos hijos se le perdió el celular en el cine. Afortunadamente, pudo recuperarlo el día siguiente! 😅

Gracias Andrea. La primera vez que escuché la expresión "se me olvidó" estuve muy confundido. ¿Porque el objeto olvidó a mí? Seguramente Yo olvidé el objeto ¿verdad? Pero ahorita estoy más acostumbrado al uso de esta forma. Y ya, un ejemplo... "Se me dañó a mi guitarra cuando se la cayó al piso." ¿Suena bien a ti? 🤔

Tenemos que corregir un poco tu frase, quedaría: "Se me dañó la guitarra cuando se cayó al piso." -El "a mi" es redundante porque "Se me dañó" ya indica que la acción afecta al hablante. -La forma correcta es "se cayó", ya que se refiere a la acción de la guitarra cayendo por sí misma, no a alguien dejándola caer. 🤗

A mí se me perdió los llaves del coche cuando tomé unas cervecitas y tenía que dejar el coche al lado del bar y ir caminando a casa. Supongo que se me cayeron del bolsillo pero no me recuerdo de la ruta que seguí aquella noche porque hay varias 😒

A mí se me perdió mi bastón. Creo que alguien lo ha robado mientras hacía las compras (because i hang it usually on the store carriage while im shopping).

Muy buen trabajo, excelente frase. Pero bajo este contexto lo mejor es decir: -Perdí la capacidad de caminar sin asistencia cuando me fracturé la pelvis. 😊

I find these constructions extremely useful but sound a bit strange if translated directly to English. e.g. a Miguel se le dano el computador. Sounds like - the computer broke itself for Miguel. Am i getting that right?

It's only a waste of time for you because your comprehension level is low. The video is very good. Andrea always speaks slowly and clearly, but without sounding robotic. The best way to learn a language is to acquire the language through exposure, so teaching in the language is ideal. It's fine if your level isn't high enough to understand this video (we all have to start somewhere), but that's a you problem, not a problem with this video or with Andrea. There are plenty of beginner-level videos here on KZread that you can check out.

@@TomRNZ Well that's your opinion. Mine is different. I understand the concept of accidental se fully. What I'm talking about is about a teacher who is speaking all spanish, or ( few) words of english to translate for those with low level of spanish comprehension.yet. My husband ( from Spain )for 23 yrs has exposed me to the language to the point I can carry decent /good conversation in spanish.

@@ditokami3095 Yes, I understand what you're talking about, and you're wrong. This is a channel for intermediate to advanced speakers of Spanish. Repeated exposure to a language is ESSENTIAL if one wants to learn it. Those of us who fit within these levels of Spanish have no interest in videos using a language we already speak natively (that's assuming that everyone watching Andrea's videos already speaks English natively or even fluently, which is a pretty big assumption to make), because we want and, more importantly, need to have a lot of Spanish input in order to keep growing as Spanish speakers. And now that you've told me that you understand the concept of accidental se fully and that you're able to have decent conversations in Spanish, I'm even more confused as to why you made your comment in the first place. It doesn't sound like you're a beginner, so you should be able to follow this video pretty easily as Andrea speaks very clearly and at a reasonable pace, not too fast and not too slow,, and you should be taking advantage of the input this video is giving you rather than calling it a "waste of time".
