sE Electronics DynaCaster review
This is a quick review of the sE Electronics DynaCaster also known as the DCM8. This is just going over some features that a lot of people would like to know about it and what missing out accessory you may want. I'm not going to technical or anything because there's a lot this microphone is capable of doing, but I just wanted to give my first take on it. I also wanted to show everyone what it sounds like with some post processing being done. If you have any specific questions feel free to leave me a comment and thanks for watching the video.

What pop filter and shock mount are you using?

The SE electronics dcm-8 / dynacaster has a built-in three layer pop filter and a built-in shock mount. It also comes with a foam pop filter to go over it if you really need it. I do have an extender for it because of the way the XLR Port is on the microphone. I got the extender on Amazon for about $8. I hope that answers your questions.

@@unumludum I should have been more specific. I was talking about the pop filter and shock mount on the v7.

Oh not a problem. For the SE electrons V7 I used a sm58 shock mount, but it will work for any handheld microphone. The pop filter I used was one made for the Shure SM7b, but it is a really good small metal pop filter that works great with a small microphone. It is awesome for videos because it does not cover your whole face when you are on camera. Links to both are below. I hope that helps you. www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08DXHRSC7?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B08PYLV2VJ?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title

👍 Anytime, I'm always happy to help.
Sounds really thin in this video?

You are probably right. The reason is because in my other videos when I use the sE Electronics DCM8 I do some post processing by adding some gain to get the volume up to around zero dB. I didn't do it with this video because I wanted to show what the microphone sounded like right out of the box. If I would have played with the gain on my preamp a little more I am sure I could have got it to sound like my other videos. I hope that helped.
