Near black test pattern that I used. I got it from a video of Classy Tech Calibrations
In this near black test pattern I count 8 columns from the right and the rest at the left is crushed.
That's not a recommendation approved by Classy Tech Calibrations, it's my own.

11:13 my iPhone 13 Pro screen is incredible, near reference accuracy, 120hz refresh, true RGB OLED, I think 1000 nits brightness with less ABL than WOLED or QD-OLED. It honestly is better than any existing OLED TV.

Just looked it up, the 1000 nits brightness measurement is actually FULL-SCREEN! Holy shit!

@@bryangosling629 Makes sense that phones are the first to reach those kinds of brightness levels since you NEED that brightness when viewing outside. (A typical use case for a phone, not so much a TV)

That's fantastic, and what about the brightness, is it still close to when it was new or you notice a reduction?

That’s interesting on your panny that “brightness” refers to luminance, on mine it controlled the black level! Which setting controls the black level on your plasma?

I don't have fine tune control on the regular menu I just have a Dark Level: Light or Dark which is Full or Limited. I have to access the Service menu for more tunning

Insightful demonstration, cheers. Just wondering, have you seen any of the QD-OLED's? Curious how it would compare to your plasma's light quality.

I haven't seen a QDOLED yet but for me the most important things are being able to disable dimming on the service menu and having BFI options. The only QDOLED screen I know has amazing motion clarity is the MSI laptops screen so it's going to be possible to get a monitor like that.

@@plasmatvforgaming9648 If you're talking about the MSI laptop with 240Hz OLED screen, that's not QD-OLED. It's RGB OLED, which has better full screen brightness at 450 nits and less aggressive ABL. But it has worse peak brightness at only 600 nits and less BT 2020 color coverage at around 80% compared to QD-OLED's 90% (still better than WOLED 75% BT 2020 coverage). MSI is releasing a 240Hz 49 inch 32:9 super ultrawide QD-OLED monitor and we'll see more details at CES 2023. If it has BFI, then it'll be my end game monitor.

Brightness is not the luminance on a plasma tv, it’s the black level. The contrast is the luminance
