I just run a pressurized oil reservoir to maintain oil pressure and prime the engine before every start up. Like you said, "every little bit helps".

Im running a LSX block with roller cam bearings so I went with a Melling low volume/high pressure. Suprised it wasnt mentioned in your video. Nice info regardless.

Now once the high volume oil pump is in, is that sump plate needed at the bottom of the plan to keep oil in the pan from being sucked dry? What is the better ones to use please?

I've been recommended to be running a CTSV V2 oil pump for my DOD, what are your thoughts on this? Also, 2nd the comment about the volumes. This guy's breathing starts getting a bit old after a few minutes. Mic placement should be adjusted?

I’m running the m355 in my gen-3 with BTR Stage2 truck cam and Headers only. I went with it due to a lot of off road slow low rpm stuff but also a daily driver. Do you see any concern at all. ??

doing a afm delete on my l76 but keeping the vvt in my daily driver pick up that i use often for towing! would you recommend i use the factory high volume oil pump with the pressure relief valve removed or standard volume pump?

We recommend keeping the higher volume pump in non-performance applications when doing a DOD delete.

A higher volume oil pump will require more effort to turn, but we don't have any data on if it will cost you HP or not.

I'll throw some info out there 1 of the biggest issue with the LS oil pump is the fact it spins to fast causing cavitation old small block spun at half rpm. Need to develop a pump that will put out the pressure and volume but reduce the pump speed. That's for all 6500 to 8000 rpm guys 😂

There is no hope, it's futile to tell people about this, they are already set in their ways. Melling the designer and manufacturer of these pumps keeps telling people "Guys HV and HVHP pumps have special use cases on LS, like VVT, AFM / DOD, high bearing clearances, oil coolers....etc." they tell you straight up if you have LS builds without those things, then you should use standard volume pumps 10294/10295 . So you say it, Melling says it, but all the avg LS guy hears "Oh did you say High Volume and High Pressure?" YES! MOAR is better man, let's put it in! 🤦

My LS3 has a Dry sump.....2010 Grand Sport 6 speed motor...Also forged crank and hand assembled at GM like the LS7/9 motors....Not really too impressed with the layout of the LS series motor oil galleys....Lots of NASTY hard 90 degree turns and restrictions in the OEM motors...No wonder so many LS7/LS9's had warranty issues if they were used on a track day event. Gen1 motors have better oiling layouts than LS motors...FACT!

I cant say i agree with this comment, i like the LS galleys better except for the passages through the pan rail to the pan and filter and back, thats a stupid design. I think the gen one oil pump is better than the crank driven design, mainly because its driven at half the rpms and less likely to cavitize.
