It is not shit when it works. I mean it's a little weird when a man pays too much attention to a thing like a rifle look. This thing is not to be good looking. It's not "yet another shiny game mod" unlocked for achievement. It is supposed to shoot and not break. IDK, it probably lacks the accuracy to be used in some serious shooting sports, but it's probably good enough to be used in some shooting sports ;) Or... to just shoot someone. I've seen reviews of bad guns and all except this one showed the guns that FAILED to do their job.

Agreed. I have 2 yugo M70 also. Great AK. I didn't know they weren't chrome lined so glad I have been running a boresnake through the barrel. As far as not storing in humidity, I have kept one in a vehicle outside in very humid and hot conditions and also very cold (up to 100° F and as low as -10°F) never had any problems with it. But I do clean it routinely, and use plenty of CLP including on the boresnake.

  • @PolenarTactical

The rifle will work without any problems but the barrel is slowly being destroyed by rust. Most 7.62 ammo is still corrosive and a barrel without chrome line protection will rust. These corrosive salts from the primers are so bad that i had a barrel develop rust even after i cleaned it (apparently not enough) and oiled it... The corrosion of the barrel can degrade the performance and especially the accuracy of the rifle

I have the same SDM AK103s and mine is pretty good. SIghts are straigt, rivets are fine, Trigger is very nice and shoots well. But there is a huge spread in the Production, I saw some with the Same problems as yours in the shop and had a Laser Bore sighter with me, the one I took wos the only in the Shop where the Laser Point and the SIghts match. So if you want to buy one, check it a Minute more in the Shop.

Good thing I watched this. I'm planning on buying an SDM AKM at some point in the future. I already own an SMD M870 clone. As for the SDM M870, it shoots, as well as any shotgun would shoot. Initially I had a few hickups with it, like a few cases not ejecting properly (2 out of 50 I should say). But after that initial shooting and after I lubed everything up, it worked flawlesly. I should say that even my CZ P10C had a few hickups every now and then. So if you don't mind the crap finish (because it's actually crap), the shotgun is pretty good for what it was worth.

Just because the sights may be miscalibrated doesn't mean they cannot hurt you. A neck shot on a high center torso shot can easily still be a kill. You said at 400m you could get consistent hits, well most engagements in the USA are under 100m, and that particular instance was only 60-100ft with a untrained 12yr old behind the trigger.

  • @mananaVesta

SDM must have really stepped up their game lately. I have a 104s and it doesn't have any of the serious problems your gun has. The sights weren't zeroed from the factory and the dust cover is still shit (replaced it), but the side rail is straight, the front sight post is straight, the gas tube fits and the rear sight leaf doesn't wobble and is totally fine. The overall finish is still rough compared to European guns, but not nearly as bad as yours. As a basis for a modded gun I can recommend newly imported SDMs. Mine has a barrel from 2019 and an import mark from 2020, to give you an idea at what date the rifles should be fine.

I buy a really nice knife, pay a couple hundred dollars for the best version of what I want, and when I'm camping or whatever and look down, I'm holding the cheap knife I bought at a garage sale because I don't want to wreck my good stuff. Guns are the same way. I have bought brand new trucks every time I I bought a new vehicle. Except once. I was in a jam and needed a truck immediately. I bought a used truck from a friend for cash (it was in great working order, just not cosmetically). I realized it was my favorite truck I ever owned because there was no stress about branches scraping it, or shopping carts dinging the door, or anything like that at all. I'd absolutely buy one of those for training. I'd probably do more, train more, stress less, and be happier than if I took my expensive AK out. But, that's what I mean, it's kind of a live-fire blue gun rifle.
