SCX24 Jeep Gladiator First Time Comp Crawling. How Will It Do?

This video is testing the waters. Is longer form raw comp crawling something people want to see? It gives more perspective into the handling, but it's definitely a slower pace than most of my videos.
It's a blast to come crawling with my boys. I see upgrades coming for their trucks so I can get my two Furitek Scythe chassis trucks back. Haha.

    I have that same Gladiator, I love mine. I noticed you adjusted your shocks, correctly at that. However I tried the same shock set up/ placement, and it raised the center of gravity. My truck rolled and rolled! I decided to put my shocks back to factory position, and it's night, and day. It looks cool the other way, but just too top heavy for my style of crawling. Any ways enjoy, loved your video, good to see your kido right into it. My sons 12, and he's got the silver C10. We did the brass upgrades in the front, alminium steering links, savox steering servos, and upgraded our motors to a 60t. What fun!!!

    I enjoy vids like this every now and then. It’s a nice break from the standard tube vids. It’s funny, I could def hear the difference in your two boys personalities throughout the vid. Just like my boys! Haha! “Just winch it dad…” haha! Glad you can get out and enjoy those events with your boys. Good times!

    That was a good crawl, especially with what looks like stock or stock travel springs. Looks great, too, love the wider tires especially. You mentioned the issues with rollover and that's something I'm still working on as well, just getting weight down lower. It's pretty pretty hefty at about 530 grams without the battery.

    i've found that scramblers raise the COG too high, right around the patagonia size seems to be the sweet spot. Climbs and sidehills great, decent axle clearance, and great grip on rock. Outperforms scramblers every day

    Are these better than the standard length wheel base of the scx24?

  • @CCxRC

    @CCxRC

    2 жыл бұрын

    In some instances yes...in others...no. The extra length can help with hill climbing or keeping traction over gaps, but it can also make you high center. You also lose some turning radius with the longer wheel base.
