SCX10 - Vanquish Products Stage 1 Upgrade Review

Спорт

Here's a look at the Vanquish Stage 1 kit for the SCX10/AX10 vehicles. It includes the 8 degree steering knuckles (high steering), 8 degree C Hubs and the rear Lock Outs. With this review, I also go over mods you must do to make this all work on your SCX10. This also shows the Vanquish Ti Steering linkage for the Currie Axles.

    "I hade to use the inner hole because of the tire rub issue" The traxxas rod ends are pretty large and almost touched the tire in the outer most hole. Going from stock knuckles to these, it seemed like I gained steering, plus the higher steering is great! I'll have more info later today, as I'm heading out to run this thing!

    Welcome to the club! Call Steve and tell him. DON'T EMAIL!!! He still hasn't responded to my email from 3 weeks ago! You may have to use the wider hexes like mine.....if you have any stub axle left. Steve told me that there's no issue with the Vanquish rims and the optional sizes of hubs. BTW, I test fit the 2.2 Proline Titus Beadlocks with the 2.2 Flat Irons and there was a ton of room. I went down to the stock hexes for that set up.

    Yeah, I think I've narrowed it down to when ever there's a majority of white is when the lines develop. may have to change the rear backdrop.

    Thanks for the comments. The lines are my cmera not playing nice with my lighting! I've bee shopping for a body, not shure what to go with. I like the idea of the rear honcho style, but wo knows.

    Steering gain would make sense. The leverage being closer to the rotation point would cause that. Its like on airplanes when you move the linkage to the inner most hole on the control surface to max throw for 3D flying.

    The "8 Degree" positioning of the Knuckles, is called the "Kingpin Angle" or Axis..... The most obvious advantage, anyone with a Wraith or Bomber already knows, is better Straight Line Stability. The Angle creates a self centering feature. Also, you get increased Camber in turns, making the front Tires bite better in turns. This is not only great for high speed - but when Crawling..... It gives the Front End MORE grip when side hilling! It gets asked often. I've built the 1:1 version of these, and just wanted to add some insight. 😉

    Hi thanks for the video. Have you tried this set up with upgraded CVD type axle shafts? I found using the Axial upgraded cvd shafts improved the turning radius significantly - meaning I can turn the SCX10 even "sharper". So much that at full lock the tire on the outside of the turn is nearly sideways and binds up!

  • @TheRCNetwork

    what is the benefit of 8º c-hub & knuckle over the stock?

  • @TheRCNetwork

    @TheRCNetwork

    10 жыл бұрын

    The benefit of the VP 8* set-up is less tire scrub, which improves overall steering performance by reducing the amount at which the tires fight each other. The 8* knuckle setup allows for normal caster (clocking) angles while reducing scrub angles and maximizing tire contact patch.

    hi ive recently put the stage one kit on my scx10 .. ime running axial 1.9 bead locks with proline super swampers XL versions.. i did your fix with the traxxas part and a washer .. i was wondering if you could recommend a slw hub i do intend on getting vp rims .. ive looked at there charts just want to confirm with you. 725 slw hubs seem to be on par with the measurements i get with your fix.

  • @TheRCNetwork

    @TheRCNetwork

    10 жыл бұрын

    With VP rims, you won't need the fix in the video, as the SLW hubs give you the extra clearance you'll need. I haven't personally ran VP rims, but you may want to run it by +Evol Villain RC or +HarleyDesignsInc as they're VP affiliates and they run them.

    +travisamc As far as I know, the standard VP SCX10 axles are meant for the stage one kit. The Currie SCX10 Axles from Vanquish can accept the front items of the Stage one kit, but the Curries' rear axle have the lock outs built into them

    great video brother! my wife ordered me a set of the vanquish 2.2 kmc rockstar wheels for my scx10. long story shortened, I ended up with the 380 (I think, basically the 3/8" slw hubs) and when I mounted them and tried to install the wheels the stock axel was too long to mount the wheel so luckily I had also ordered a set of gear head delrin spacers that were 2 or 3 mm from rpp hobby and when I put them on I had the perfect fit for the scx10. But what I was getting to was the quality of vanquish is excellent! the detail and finish is amazing but is a bit pricey. not trying to plug my channel but if you'd like to see my still in progress scx10 jk build check out my channel. thanks for the good videos bro!
