It may not be a game, but he's having a blast!

Based on my experience, Nikara actually stops when there are nereby enemies, as if she's an attack unit. This is probably to prevent her from running too far forward, but when you have air enemies that you can't clear....

Also doesn't help that Grant has the Outlaw Range Upgrade so Tychus ends up being behind Nikara than beside or in front of her.

She doesn’t stop in normal co-op for me, she always goes straight to enemies. My friend also has this problem which is why he never makes her and only makes Rattlesnake. This is something that Lunchbox(the creator) added.

Yeah that's either a mod addition, or another explanation, because the coop version certainly does not have that.

Keep in mind Grant had 12 total hero units on the field at the same time. The 9 outlaws, Hyperion, Artanis in the Shield of Auir, and the Odin.

Based on lore the warhound is just a buffed up scv so you could have used sirius as anti air

Serious kudos to the mod maker for turning In Utter Darkness into both a fun mission and an opportunity to explore any units and upgrades you didn't choose.

In co-op with the dutiful dogwalker prestige the Odin has it's own avatar; It is a Thor pilot with gray hair, a headband with a triple-triangle, and an eyepatch/missing eye. In case your Norse mythology isn't great, this is meant to appear as the Norse god Odin.

That's the same avatar it has in HotS in the final mission where it appears, as well. The... Implications that the same pilot was working both for Mengsk in his final hour, as well as a bunch of outlaw gangsters, are... Interesting!

I'm imagining a group of protoss watching a 1v1 between a zelot and one of these SCVs and half of them just die of embarrassment because they don't want to live in this world anymore.

Watching the Dominator just get confused by the wall of SCV's at around the 31:00 mark was hilarious. He just walked around in circles as the turrets gutted him.

Odin is just an RC mech controlled by Tychus, that's why it uses Tychus voicelines

those super turrets are op they even wreck a hybrid wave in that gold base the only weakness I could see are broodlords but the outlaws shred them like paper so yeah turrets + outlaws seems unkillable

personally I would've thought that the combat SCV upgrade was moreso to give your SCVs something to do once you mine out the map like you've done in a few prior missions rather than as a strategy unto itself. guess I was underestimating them a bit.

Grant: "almost out of money" has literally 3600 minerals in the bank

i think nikara is supposed to have a flamethrower attack. it says in the screen when you get her. but she doesnt have one. So everytime you a move her she looks at the enemy and stands still until she has a target to heal. i thought its an ability,but it might be her flamethrower thats not there. Remember, she is a helion.thats why she is in the vehicle tab when you upgrade her

Nikara here is like an observer/overseer/raven in Direct Strike wherein she deems the overlords/queens as enemies so she stays put while you deal with em unlike in Direct Strike wherein she just moves forward regardless.

Mission like these really make me imagine what a worker only mod will look like. SCV upgrading suits, building all kinds of turrets everywhere, and put the "in" in all in with their giant drills.

If they weren't heroic, Vega could have mind controlled them. Which is nice of the mod-maker, to make her useful in this mission if you chose Nux and wanted to try out Vega.

So, I just played a bit of tychus today and No it uses the recolored Thor or the HotS version of the odin as the pilot for it's character portrait. incase nobody has mentioned it, thought I leave it here to be seen somewhat. This mod made me more curious with how to build my outlaws up for any mission availible (had the Train robbery remix co-op mission earlier and did, Tychus, Sam, Snake, Odin(CD), and Blaze. but since i forgot the prestige was recent, no ult gear was useable)

Just finished the predator-only nightmare episode before this. I love Grant's commitment to wacky strategies!

If only workers had an Auto Attack toggle, that would make the strategy Grant did of pulling the buffed up boys even better.

I always thought of Rattlesbake being a healer because of reptiles' natural ability to regenerate, and things like snake oil potions/tonics.

C&C very much about burning money like crazy, you mine fast and spend cash fast. Unlike StarCraft where you gotta wait a minute for a battlecruiser, in command and conquer as long as you have the cash units come out fast. The macro game there is basically just mining and securing oil derricks, since you don't need to build many production structures.

I would have loved to see how long just the Tychus and his crew could have held out on their own.

A thought: What if Cannonball is at the end of a regular questline, and the Secret Mission Reward were the Outlaw you didn't get at New Folsom? You would have to gate Piercing the Shroud for after that choice, and I have no idea if that's doable.

Echoes of the future is best watched if you pretend the SCV's are just dwarves: Hard to kill, Capable of mining at ludicrous rates, and unafraid to build a turret in the middle of active combat.

Vega can't dominate heroic units, but the two basic hybrid types in this mission are apparently not heroic. It's pretty hilarious; most fun I've ever had on this mission.

actually odin has no voice lines at all if you use prestige 3 if i recall correctly, it has a different kind of thor driver portrait that you see it have in the finale of heart of the swarm. it either has thor voice lines or none at all but i believe it to be the latter

It seems that the mission in utter darkness's the turrets have the protoss research or Zerg the one which auto turrets do area damage that's why zerglings died so fast

Fun Fact: Rattlesnake's name in Spanish is uncomfortably long since we need 3 words for Rattlesnake: "Serpiente de Cascabel"
