What she did was amazing, we should know/learn about her in history lessons, documentaries etc. You could see the care and compassion in her eyes and the relief in theirs, that for part of the day, the wounded soldiers had a face again. It's terrible that these men - mostly young men - were so terribly injured and disfigured. Hopefully one day, the human race as a whole will become more enlightened, realise that war is barbaric and settle matters in alternative, peaceful ways. One day. x

Life is pain, war is not an option is survival, when the war on a foreign country stops you start a war within that will create a new one outside. It happens in the animal kingdom as well when you can't feed on something else you start to cannibalizate. Being said that all countries must be war ready or face obliteration as we have seen before and right now.

Probably to do with the fact that plastic surgery requires more cutting and stretching of the skin. Which ofc these mask require none and are able to be fitted properly even after being applied. Im sure they are great and much cheaper. That is till you need to eat or scratch your face.

What I did not know was that there had been a person who had made this humble contribution, from the solitude of a workshop and with the, now, precarious materials of the time, but there is something that avoids all this action if it had not been born with it, which is compassion. This Mrs. Ladd, showed that compassion and therefore humanity, could have straightened many lives. What a beautiful gesture that of these people. Greetings from memory to all of them.
