Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

There are some great tricks that makes sculpting runes much easier. I thought I would cram as many as I could in one video.
Enjoy!

Thanks a lot. I was worried I was a bit slow on going through VDM but I wanted to be sure I'd played with them quite a bit before I did a video so I knew enough about the functions and any issues they had.

great vid. Im curious if this technique would work in reverse? as in the rune is sunken not raised? with the sharp fall off. going to try this afternoon I think. have a sculpting idea thanks to this vid.

Oh yeah, it should work fine. And as a VDM you can just set the brush to be negative to get that effect from the same brush. Or you should be able to.... I'm going to go try that now 🤣

Great tips! Is there a way to bring in a geometric shape or curve from another source?

Frustratingly there doesn't seem to be as it has to be sculpted. I think that's the next stage to allow thos feature to be really pushed to the next level. Though maybe it's possible with some tinkering.

How to make this runes glowing? P.S:not all object only sculpted parts

You'd need to assign a material to the bits you want glowing with an emission.

Could a vector like a SVG be brought in for the lines? I have several shapes I have made for things or even logos I would love to use and this would be amazing to use for that!

Hmm... I don't think I've seen anyone manage that which leads me to think probably not. At best you could use a similar method of this bur tracing out what's on the SVG

Is there a benefit to converting to vdms, vs regular alphas or w/e, for designs like these that don't require an overhang ability?

Good question. I wouldn't go out of my way to make the change over if you already have the alphas but with the way the add on works to create them I think it's a bit faster to do if you're making your own. And as you say they can have hangovers which is really handy.
